A zillion years ago when I got a real job while I was still in graduate school, I used the little bit of extra cash in my pocket to buy skincare products. I worked in midtown Manhattan at the Guttmann Breast Cancer Diagnostic Center as an interviewer, and our office wasn’t far from both B. Altman and Lord & Taylor department stores. Back then, they were very elegant. I remember going to the Elizabeth Arden counter at L&T, and the SA talked me into spending my money on tiny plastic ampules of ceramides. I repurchased and repurchased and used them for years in spite of the price.
Fast forward many years. But still, imagine my surprise when I received two new affordable skincare products from a new brand, Aquation, that feature three ceramides to help skin stay moisturized. Ceramides are found naturally in skin, forming a protective layer to keep in moisture and keep out environmental irritants. They’re perfect for dry or sensitive skin.
From a formula standpoint, Aquation skincare products give department store skincare brands a run for their money. Aquation skincare products are very affordably priced, and you can buy them at Walmart. Plus, they’re huge, 16 oz! They’re no frills, but what a value at less than $10 each! They are perfect for a shared bathroom. And for me alone, they’ll last me a looooooong time.
Both Aquation Gentle Moisturizing Cleanser and Moisturizing Cream are translucent gel creams, fragrance-free, that come with easy-to-dispense pumps. Both are “Powered by Hydro Balance”, meaning they are formulated with hydrating ceramides and hyaluronic acid. They are dermatologist recommended.
The Gentle Moisturizing Cleanser removes dirt, oil and makeup. It goes on smooth, does not foam, and as a result, it’s especially great to use with my Foreo Facial Cleansing Brush. I probably don’t have to but I like to do a double cleanse – remove my makeup first with micellar water and then follow with Aquation Gentle Moisturizing Cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling so soft.
The Moisturizing Cream is very hydrating. It works instantly, the ingredients create a protective barrier, and it is formulated with encapsulated actives that work over 24 hours. It can be used on the face and on the body. Because I’m testing out other facial moisturizers, I use this mostly on my body. But I have used it on my face on a cold day when I was outside snowshoeing. Excellent! Applying it is so easy because it absorbs right away. Unlike some shea butters that are hard to rub in because they are white on the skin, Aquation Moisturizing Cream is a cinch to use. It leaves my skin feeling instantly moisturized and protected. Great. It also soothes itchy skin, and I know because I have a patch of dry itchy skin on my back. This works.
If you’re looking for a cruelty-free, affordable, effective, gentle, easy to use facial cleanser and moisturizing cream made with high quality ingredients, you must try Aquation. They also make a Cleansing Bar and a Moisturizing Lotion. I know you’ll like them all. Again, they’re sold at Walmart and on walmart.com. I noticed that you can get free 2 day shipping if you wish to buy them online. Nice!
Have you heard about Aquation skincare products?

Although these products are made for those with dry or sensitive skin, they’d be so good for a household full of teens or young women to share in a common bathroom coz they’re huge! But I find myself using them so often because the pump makes them a breeze to use.
I will definitely add this to my list for moisturizers! I love that it is cruelty free too!
I was happily surprised, Eileen, that Aquation is cruelty-free. I would also like to try the Moisturizing Lotion to see how it compares to the cream. The cream is too heavy for my face except for very cold weather but great for my body. The Gentle Moisturizing Cleanser is soooooo nice and such a bargain! You should check them out. At $7.94 each, they’re a steal.
Fragrance free sells me every time. I have some items from Aquation that I’m going to try when I’m done testing my current products.
I was happy that they were fragrance-free too! I think they’re great budget options, and I reach for that cleanser all the time. Eager to hear what you will think 🙂
It’s so nice to have budget options! I remember when department stores were elegant!
I miss the elegant department stores. It used to be fun to shop and go for lunch at their lovely restaurants!
Thanks for introducing me to this brand. Never heard of them before!
This is something new to me. I would be interested to try the products given their outstanding quality and affordability.
It’s great when quality products are available to all!
This sounds great, epsecially for my combo skin that can get dry and scaly for winter.

Definitely great products for winter dry skin or for those like me with dry skin year round
I love how affordable these are (after having blown up enough money for a month-long First Class round trip to the US and back, on skincare in the last year)! The Moisturising Cleanser sounds lovely – I’m completely over foaming cleansers. It seems they were making my acne much worse.

Good to know about the foaming cleansers! This winter I’ve been using cream cleansers like this exclusively. So much more hydrating
For a second there I thought I was looking at Cetaphil… are they similar? I’m a huge Cetaphil user because of my sensitive skin, I’d totally check these out if they were.

You know, Honey, I’m not sure if I have ever used Cetaphil so I can’t compare. Someone else commented that they thought it sounded similar to Cetaphil so maybe it is. The Aquation Gentle Moisturizing Cleanser is absolutely gentle gentle gentle for my skin. I primarily use the Moisturizing Cream on my body because it is quite a heavy cream, but the couple of times I used it on my face when I was going out in cold weather, I didn’t have any irritation with it at all. It’s a bargain IMO.
Thank you 🙂 I’ll be checking this out the next time at Walmart and compare to my Cetaphil. I’m excited to try it. 🙂 thanks for sharing.

I hope it’s a dupe for the Cetaphil!
Thanks Allison. Going right on my Walmart list. ?
Definitely take a look! I especially love the cleanser, and the thick cream is great for cold weather dry skin.
I haven’t heard of this brand before but the products sound amazing!
Aquation is a new brand!
