Christmas and Hanukah are both just a week away. I’m sure most of you have finished your shopping, right? Not!
But even if you have finished or if you’re still on the hunt or if you need a last minute gift or a hostess gift, The Body Shop has got you covered! I’d like to show you some of the amazing skincare and makeup gift ideas that you can find at The Body Shop that’s probably at your local mall. Lots of photos in this post today.
I stopped into The Body Shop at Northshore Mall near where I live recently to exchange a body butter that I bought online for an unscented version (aloe) to help extend my new perfume that has issues with lasting. I gotta tell you I was blown away at how many great gifts and treats there were. Plus the store was organized so well that it was easy to find tempting gift ideas. I love that they organized one of the main walls by scent or ingredient family, e.g. coconut, British rose, aloe etc., so if you like a particular fragrance or ingredient, you can pick up the whole product line or cherry pick the products you need. Brilliant!
But let’s take a look at the goodies I got from The Body Shop.
Skincare from The Body Shop
The Cutest Bath Sponge Ever
First up is Reggie Jr. I thought adorable Reggie Jr. was merely the cutest tree ornament. And he is. But he’s also a bath sponge! How amazing is that? Cute, cute, cute! Here’s Reggie posing with my rubber ducky – they’re fast friends 😉
Speaking of ornaments, the Butter Bauble ornament is adorable too.
I got the yummy strawberry scent. On top is a Lip Butter, and on the bottom is a travel size Body Butter. You can buy the Body Butter in regular or mega size on its own as well as in many different scents.
After you take out the two skincare products, you can reassemble the ornament or if you’re crafty, you can decorate it and hang it on the tree. 😀
Multi-Masking from The Body Shop
Multi-masking is a big thing this year, and The Body Shop has embraced the trend wholeheartedly. I adore The Finest Facial Mask Duo. The presentation box is gorgeous to start with. Plus buying the two masks together in this stunning box saves you money, $39 for the duo versus $28 each if you buy them individually.
Any mask lover would be thrilled with this perfect duo that contains:
- Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask: a lightly fresh-scented mud mask
- British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask: a mask with a honey-like consistency that smells like you stepped into a real rose garden, wow!
For those mask-lovers who would appreciate a true at-home spa experience, there’s The Body Shop At-Home Facial Mask Experience with five masks including the two I mentioned above: Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Mask and British Rose.
The other three are:
- Amazonian Acai Energizing Radiance Mask
- Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask
- Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask.
These are true beauties, and they smell divine with natural scents. Your skin will love them!
Because I have duplicates of the Himalayan Charcoal and British Rose masks, I will give the duo away to one lucky Never Say Die Beauty reader later in this post.
Makeup from The Body Shop
In addition to fabulous, nourishing skincare items, The Body Shop makes wonderful cruelty-free, 100% vegetarian makeup that does NOT contain carmine, petrolatum, gluten or mineral oil. So many people are avoiding gluten these days, and some forget that if they’re gluten-sensitive, they need to check the ingredients in their makeup, skincare and haircare for gluten!
I received several amazing makeup items from The Body Shop to try out, all of which I had never tried before.
Down To Earth Eye Palettes
Check out these two new beautiful limited edition Down To Earth eye quads that can be used to create everyday looks and more dramatic smokey eye looks too. I have 01 (gold) and 03 (grey) to show you. There are 5 different palettes in all. First they come in extremely well made heavy plastic compacts with big, usable mirrors inside. Each palette contains four 2.2g pans. The shade names are unusual exotics.
01 Gold contains warm-toned shades:
- Sahara Dune: matte butter color in the pan that is such a good match for my skin tone you can’t really see it in the swatch
- Essequira Bronze: gorgeous bronze satin that looks like a duochrome
- Aztec Gold: I adore this gold shade with just the right amount of shimmer
- Amazonian Earth: matte deep brown.
03 Grey contains cool-toned shades:
- India Rose Quartz: pale pinky peach shimmer that makes a great highlighter as well as shadow (it looks white in the photo, but it does look peachy in person)
- Cerro Rico Silver: just the right amount of shimmer silver
- Atlas Rhassoul: matte medium grey
- Siberia Anthracite: matte deep grey.
I would describe the pigmentation, worn over primer, as medium, and they are buildable. Because of that, I think these palettes are very wearable by people of any age. Even though the quads contain shimmers, it is restrained shimmer rather than glitter. I love these quads with their neutral shades. Just enough bling for the holidays or any day.
In order to make the swatches, I really dug into the pans for the palest shades in both the quads, Sahara Dune and India Rose Quartz. Because I wanted to try to get the shades to show up in the swatches, I got a lot of shadow on the brush and they definitely produced some powder . On my light skin, both are pretty much skin tone, but the India Rose Quartz adds a lovely shimmer. I didn’t have any issues with powderiness with the deeper shades. They don’t crease and they last well over primer. Because I always wear eyeshadow over primer, I did not try them without it.
You must know me by now. I love cream shadows. So I was thrilled to receive the easy to use, creamy Eye Colour Stick in shade 01, Nevada Gold, an on-trend rose gold. You can wear this shade as a base or as color on its own. I use this all the time because it’s so quick to apply, and of course, because it’s rose gold. There are three other shades: black, bronze and purple.
Because of my dry lips, I approach matte lipsticks with trepidation. With The Body Shop’s Colour Crush Matte Lipstick, I needn’t have feared – no dryness here!
I received the lovely pink rose shade, Honolulu Pink Matte. It is flattering and easy to wear. I love it!
The Colour Crush Lipstick line is made up of 25 shades in a variety of different finishes: matte, pearlescent, sparkly, and glossy.
Honey Bronze Drops of Sun
I don’t usually do bronzer, but I am very attracted to this new amazing all-over color. It comes in a brown glass bottle with dropper.
The thick liquid is a deep dark brown, and I must say I was kind of freaked out by it at first. But when you rub it in, Honey Bronze Drops of Sun provides just a touch of golden color. I won’t have to look so pasty white this winter! Here’s what Honey Bronze looks like rubbed in.
I am utterly impressed with all of these fabulous skincare and makeup products from The Body Shop. They really are on top of their game! I think any and all of these would make terrific gifts that the recipient would love. Also, I am on the mailing list for The Body Shop, and their pre-holiday sales are beyond amazing. I don’t think there’s anyplace else that you can get the variety and the quality at these prices. So head to the store or go online and sign up for their emails so you can find out about their amazing sales! Then check out these products and the other zillion enticing products at The Body Shop!
What’s your favorite thing from The Body Shop? I would have said the body butter, but now I’m in love with the makeup! And that adorable Reggie Jr. is just too cute not to mention. 😀
