When Ulta had its 20% off coupon last month, I went into the store to look around.
On my list was a new sunscreen with SPF 50 from IT Cosmetics, Anti-aging Armour. I couldn’t find it at Ulta because it’s an exclusive at Sephora and on the IT Cosmetics website. Once I saw it, I realized it’s similar to the Exuviance Sunscreen with SPF 50 that I already own, so I passed on it.
No. 28 Serum Anti-aging Collagen Veil Primer
But when I was looking around Ulta, I came upon another newish product that’s also part of the Anti-aging Armour collection: No. 50 Serum. It was positioned as a hydrating primer and serum in one. Though I have several primers that I like, this one got my attention because it was both anti-aging skincare and a primer to wear under foundation. I pumped some out of the tester at Ulta, and I was in love. It is silky smooth but still lightweight. It made my skin feel like baby skin. Unlike the two Hourglass primers that I alternate between (No. 28 and Veil), this one feels like I’m getting actual skincare benefits. My skin and I love it!
Here’s how IT describes it:
“Includes 10 essential oils and butters, 10 nourishing botanicals, 30 fruit and plant-based extracts plus powerful antioxidants and vitamins including vitamin A, B5, brightening C & E! Peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, silk and niacin all work together for you all daylong, while hyaluronic acid provides a healthy drink of hydration your skin. Aloe, jojoba, licorice root, chamomile and colloidal oatmeal, just to name a few, offer a load of benefits including soothing and comforting your skin. Powerful antioxidants work to ward off free radicals and protect your skin from the environment to aid in the prevention of premature aging, keeping your skin luminous, supple and healthy looking! Paraben-free, talc- free, sulfate-free and cruelty-free.”
My only complaint is that this is an expensive anti-aging serum/primer. And it’s easy to use quite a bit of it. Over the past month, I’ve used about 25% of the bottle. I’ve gotta slow down.
So if money is no object, I strongly recommend this terrific multitasker. It’s got everything, it’s wonderful. It comes in a pump bottle, but they also give you a dropper in case you prefer that. $48 for 1 fl. oz.

Bye Bye Redness Neutralizing Correcting Cream
While I was trying to decide about buying No. 50 Serum, one of the sales associates from IT Cosmetics was spending the day at my local Ulta to help shoppers with their IT questions and purchases. I asked her if IT had a good eye primer, and she suggested Bye Bye Redness. As you may remember, I’m always lamenting my red eyelids and crease, and I’m always trying to cover up my red skin. Bye Bye Redness seemed like it was the perfect antidote. Plus, the company SA said it was useable as an eye primer too.
I decided not to buy it that day, but to wait to use the $10 off coupon that I received from Ulta for my birthday (Ulta definitely has some great perks for Platinum Members!). But I thought about it, and I did go back with my coupon and I bought it.
So what do I think about it? Well, as usual when it comes to IT makeup, I’m not crazy about the color. The sole color available is Neutral Beige that’s supposed to be a universal shade, and I assume that it would work well for the vast majority. But as usual, for me, it’s a little dark and a little yellow, but if I cover it up, it’s OK.
When I apply it on my lid, crease and area slightly above the crease, it creases in the crease, lol, even though it’s not supposed to crease! So I have to rub it in again a few minutes after I first applied it and rubbed it in the first time.
Net, net, it’s a good base, but I’m not sure I love it as an eyeshadow primer. Somehow I don’t feel like eye shadows grab onto it and last as long as when I wear an actual eyeshadow primer. My opinion.
I have used it on my red cheeks and it does a good job, but truth be told, so does my foundation. I’ve tried it on my dark spots, and my thicker cream concealer from Judith August does a better job.
Here’s what IT says:
“Rich in anti-aging peptides, colloidal oatmeal, hydrolyzed collagen, aloe and avocado, it camouflages any red-toned skin discolorations including rosacea, broken capillaries, blemishes, skin irritations, sun damage, scars, age spots and more.”
I’ve considered returning it – I’ve got about a week more to decide – but I think I’ll probably keep it and use it primarily in the way it was designed for: as a correcting cream with an eye primer on top. I wish that IT would come out with a second lighter shade.
Bye Bye Redness is priced at $32 for 0.37 fl. oz.

Both of the products I bought are IT Cosmetics Best Sellers so they have a big following. They have tons of great ingredients, and they both feel great on my skin. I’m glad I got to try them both on sale. I know I won’t repurchase Bye Bye Redness, but I know I’d like to be able to repurchase No. 50 Serum because it’s so darn good!
Have you tried either of these products from IT Cosmetics? If so, what did you think? If not, do either of these interest you?
