Since this is the season of opening boxes and receiving new things, I thought I’d tell you about the box of holiday and seasonal goodies from a variety of brands that I received from Influenster to test and review.
I was psyched to get my Jolly VoxBox because it was my first box of products from Influenster. And how nice that it arrived just before the holidays!
So, what was in my Jolly VoxBox?
Right on top was a package that took up the whole box, a brand that was new to me: Skinny Cow, “divine filled chocolates”.
I had to take photos of the items in the box first, so it was killing me that I couldn’t immediately open up the chocolates and try one! But I am disciplined. I took the pix and then opened up the box and found CANDY BARS. In each attractively wrapped bar were three good-sized squares of milk chocolate filled with peanut butter creme.
Thank you, Skinny Cow, how did you know that is one of my favorite combos: peanut butter and milk chocolate? Each bar (meaning all 3 pieces) are 130 calories! As I just said, I am disciplined so I can actually eat one square at a time and save the other two for another time. So I don’t feel guilty indulging in these babies at all! Each box contains 6 candy bars that they call “pouches”. I call them YUM. A box of Skinny Cow costs $3.99 for 6 pouches, or sold individually, they’re $1.09. Now, I don’t have to avoid the candy aisle any more.
Next, I found two different makeup items. Heaven. How lucky could I get! A lipgloss AND an eye shadow palette. I plan to review them individually, so today I’ll give you just a sneak peak.
From Rimmel, I received Show Off Lip Lacquer in Aurora, a red-coral shade, that is so perfect for me. What’s so interesting is it’s a combination of high-intensity color that you’d expect from lipstick with the shine and feel of lipgloss. It has gone immediately into my makeup bag, a keeper for sure!
From NYC New York Color, I got a trio of HD eye shadows in neutral shades with a hint of shimmer. Again, perfect shades for me! How did they know? Stay tuned for the palette review and details on Thursday.
Then, I noticed something I really needed: a purse size package of Puffs Plus Tissues. Puffs Plus are my all-time favorite brand of tissues because they have lotion in them, and they are so soft and soothing. You cannot have a cold, allergy or the flu without Puffs Plus. Heck, even if you don’t have a cold, allergy or the flu, these are the only tissues you should buy. And they are a must for children. Puffs Ultra Soft & Strong to Go Tissue Pack is priced at $0.49 a pack.
Finally, I found a product that was completely new to me: Ducklings Mini Rolls Ducktape from Duck brand. Wow, how could I have missed this tape! Not only is it strong, but it’s the absolutely cutest tape I’ve ever seen. Isn’t duct tape that ugly black or silver stuff that plumbers use on pipes? Well, this is completely different. The Ducktape is splattered with bright modern colors and designs. A piece can be ripped off by hand; no scissors needed. Great for repairs or crafting. But for me, the Ducklings Mini Roll Ducktape is the perfect tape to seal packages. I recently mailed out packages to the winners of my most recent blog giveaway, and I wish I had had this cute tape then. It would have really glammed up my boxes while making sure they stayed sealed on their journey. Now, I’m prepared for the next mailing. Ducktape Mini Rolls are priced from $2-3.
So, what do you think? All the products in the Jolly VoxBox can be found in major supermarkets, mass merchandisers and drug store chains throughout the U.S.
The products in the VoxBox were complimentary and they were sent to test and review. But all opinions are my own.
