I’ve been hearing a lot lately about DermOrganic, a line of better-for-you, argan extract based skincare and haircare products. The products are made with a high percentage of organic ingredients. When it comes to skincare where the product is absorbed into my body, organic ingredients are important to me. I was excited to have a chance to try DermOrganic Hand & Body Moisture Lotion.
Because the heat is on, my skin is as dry as a bone. Although I use body butter frequently to hydrate my dry skin, I also like to have a body lotion in a pump on hand because it is so much faster and more convenient to apply. Often the body lotions that I’ve tried aren’t hydrating enough for my super-dry skin.
DermOrganic Hand & Body Moisture Lotion is a thick, but instantly absorbing lotion that is much more like a cream. I use it when I get out of the shower and sometimes before bed for added moisture. I’ll do a quick pump on my hands throughout the day. I love this lotion. It arrived in the nick of time.
Here’s what the brand says about the lotion:
-Hydrating cream for hand and body
-Leaves skin feeling soft, clean and moisturized
-Rich formula with a sheer application
-Glides on and absorbs quickly -Protects moisture balance
-Rich in Lipids, Omega-6 and VitaminsC&E
-Made withArgan extract of Morocco
-With Yuzu fruit extract and BotaniCollagenTM
DermOrganic Hand & Body Moisture Lotions contains Moroccan Argan Extract for added hydration, and 70% of the ingredients are organic. It’s interesting because the website says that the product is “oil-free”, but it is certainly rich in emollients because it definitely softens and hydrates!
Here’s the ingredient list:
All Vegan Ingredients: Aqua/Eau/Water,Tridecyl Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Methyl Glucose, Sesquistearate, Stearic Acid, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Methyl Gluceth-20, PCA, Panthenol, Hyaluronan, Glucosamine HCL, Bambusa Vulgaris (Bamboo Leaf) Extract, Rice Amino Acids, Phospholipids, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Sterols, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Seed Extract*, Bambusa Vulgaris (Bamboo Leaf) Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Extract*, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract*, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Extract*, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract*, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Extract, Yuzu Extract, Glycereth-2 Cocoate/Benzoic Acid. In addition to being oil-free, the lotion is fragrance-free. I do like a nice fragrance especially if it’s citrus or coconut, but fragrance-free has its benefits: it doesn’t clash with my perfume and it’s better for those who are sensitive to fragrances.
As I mentioned above, it’s vegan. DermOrganic does not test on animals, and it displays the Leaping Bunny certification. It’s made in the US. Also:
- no artificial preservatives
- sulfate-free and gluten-free
- no sodium chloride, MEA, DEA or dyes
- paraben-free and propylene glycol-free
- pH balanced (4.5-5.5)
Definitely a wonderful brand for those with sensitive skin or anyone looking for better-for-you skincare. I am so glad that I was introduced to this product! It has become my new favorite body lotion.
DermOrganic Hand & Body Moisture Lotion comes in two sizes:
- 2 fl. oz. travel size: $6.99
- 12 fl. oz.: $25.
Although more expensive than drugstore lotions, it is a much higher quality product. It is priced comparably or even below the better-for-you body butters that I use.
You can buy it on the DermOrganic website. And it will be at Ulta, where you can now buy the DermOrganic haircare, soon!
