When I think of lotion, I usually think of something thin and runny. Not only can it be sort of messy, but lotion often isn’t hydrating enough even in summer for the dry skin on my hands.
Farmhouse Fresh has changed my mind about lotion with their new Steeped Milk Lotions. Truth be told, they’re are hand creams rather than liquidy lotions. They’re super-hydrating and nourishing. Yet they’re the right weight for both normal and dry hands, now in summer plus they’ll be perfect for the colder weather to come, because they’re nourishing and velvety but not greasy or too heavy. They give my hands a protected, nicely coated feeling.
Farmhouse Fresh Steeped Milk Lotions come in two flavors (scents, if you will):
What’s different about these two new additions to the FHF hand cream lineup is the role of milks in the formula: coconut milk and buttermilk. Aromatic mixtures are created by steeping either organic lavender or cardamom into creamy organic coconut milk, and then the aromatic mixture is infused into “buttermilk-kissed” cream.
Both scents are light and yummy, as you expect from Farmhouse Fresh. This time, the combo scents are a bit hard for me to describe. I’d say that Buttermilk Lavender is a sweetened lavender that is far less herbal than a straight lavender. Farmhouse Fresh describes the scent as “gourmet shortbread cookie with a touch of lavender”. Yum. Because it contains cow’s milk, it is not vegan.
Honey Chai is a somewhat unusual sweetish scent probably because of the cardamom. I use cardamom in baking and cooking but I’m not sure I can adequately describe it. So Honey Chai – to me, it’s the scent of chai tea sweetened with honey and milk. Honey Chai is a vegan crafted with coconut but no cow’s milk.
The two scents are delicate. Even those who avoid scented skincare wouldn’t have a hard time with these. And scent lovers would find them intoxicating. The scents last for a while on my hands, but it stays very close to the skin rather than broadcasting the fragrance. They’re lovely.
The new Farmhouse Fresh Steeped Milk Lotions in Buttermilk Lavender and Honey Chai are hydrating hand creams that come in pretty pastel plastic tubes that make them easy to toss into my bag. Each tube contains 2.4 fl. oz. (you can fly with them!), and they’re priced at $15. They contain 97% natural ingredients. They’re cruelty-free, gluten-free, paraben and sulfate-free. And they’re a wonderful addition to the Farmhouse Fresh hand cream lineup. Plus they come in larger versions in 8 oz. decorative glass pump bottles that you can use for your body as well as your hands. Yummy yum yum!
