Hearts are in in makeup design this year. Lucky me, the heart collector!
I’m traveling on business this week, and I needed a more portable blush than my go-to heart-shaped Too Faced Flush Blush. I love the shade, the shape, but I don’t like how big it is and that I need to carry a brush with me. It’s great for use at home.
I was picking up my vitamin D prescription at CVS, when another heart blush caught my eye. Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush.
Physicians Formula is really upping its game lately. OK, I admit it. I couldn’t resist the cute hearts and the combination of blush shades in one.
And it’s a pretty handy little compact for travel. Underneath the blush, there’s a mirror and a place for the portable brush. Although the brush isn’t the greatest, it’s just fine for a few days on the road.
Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush comes in four shades: Rose, Natural, Pink & Warm. I bought Warm, a peachy shade if you swipe across the whole compact or you can cherry pick colors — neutral, bronze, sheer iridescent peach, deeper peach — to contour, highlight or create a flush. Versatile!
Here’s a swatch:
I think it’s natural looking. It starts out quite sheer. It’s blendable, so you can put on as little or as much as you like. I actually put on a lot in both the swatch and photo so you could see the color. In actuality, I might go a little lighter.
Here’s what it looks like on me, with a swipe across the palette:
Regular price on Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush is $11.95, but it was on sale at CVS for $7.99 last week. The size is 0.24 oz/7g. The round compact is about 2.5″.
Gee, when I was doing a little background research on the ingredients for this review, I came upon some fascinating info on the box and on the website about why it’s called Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush:
- Infused with our Happy Boost Blend, featuring Happy Skin and Euphoryl, natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress.
- The sweet scent of Violet provides a feeling of joy each time you apply.
Wow! Now, that’s what I call a real multi-tasker. Call me a skeptic, but I can’t say I felt any effects like endorphins kicking in after a good run. But once I read about the violet scent, it did bring back memories of Violets hard candies that I used to buy in NYC back in the day. Not exactly joy, but good memories.
