Around Valentine’s Day, I showed you my new heart-shaped drop earrings from Uno Alla Volta, the online catalogue and retailer that sells unique artisan-made jewelry, accessories, fashion, and home decor (article here).
I love my Joli’s purple drusy earrings, and they go perfectly with my new acquisition from Uno Alla Volta.
Just in time for the spring holidays, I received the most stunning handmade silk scarf, Lucille’s Marbled Rose Bush Scarf, from Uno Alla Volta (in Italian, “one at a time” represents how the items are made). The scarf is crafted in a pastel water marble pattern.
Perhaps you’ve even done a water marble mani yourself? I’ve always wanted to, but haven’t tried it yet. Water marble design is made by placing the item gently on top of water that has a number of colored pigments swirled into each other with a comb. It looks very complicated to me!
Although Italy – especially Florence and Venice – is known for water marble patterned paper and fabrics, my scarf was handcrafted by Lucille, an artisan in Connecticut. And I have a Certificate of Authenticity to prove it. 🙂
They sent along a brochure with Scarf Tying Ideas and as well as a matching silk-covered clip that I can use to make several of the ideas. So handy because when it comes to tying a scarf, I only know a few options.
I love Lucille’s Marbled Rose Bush Scarf. It’s so pretty, and so much fun to wear. This is just a simple bow, but I wanted you to be able to see a lot of the scarf in this selfie.
The water marble pattern is made with so many colors – purple, teal, pink, yellow, orange, and aqua – that it goes with almost everything. But as I said, it is unique – each one is different. Here it is pictured in the Uno Alla Volta catalogue in a slightly different color scheme and two more different color schemes (Lucille’s Marbled Sorbet Scarf in pink/orange) on their homepage. The 100% pure scarf measures 11″ x “58. $60
As you get ready for Mother’s Day, graduation, wedding season, go online to the Uno Alla Volta website to look at all the possibilities and to get yourself an Uno Alla Volta catalogue (their Murano sale is going on now). You’ve gotta take a look at all the exquisite gift ideas for family and friends or for a well-deserved treat for yourself.
Could you see yourself wearing this gorgeous scarf? Or could it be a gift idea for someone you care about? Have you ever shopped Uno Alla Volta?
Note: I may be taking Tuesday off. My holiday, Passover, starts tonight, and with all the preparations I’m behind on blogposts. I hope to be back on Wednesday!
