butterLONDON is one of my very favorite nail polish brands. Their prestige nail lacquer goes on so smoothly that two coats is more than enough. butterLONDON nail lacquers don’t contain formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, phthalates, or parabens. They dry quickly to a beautiful shine. I believe butterLONDON lacquers are cruelty-free and vegan.
About a year or so ago, butterLONDON introduced a new line of makeup, and sadly, I hadn’t tried any of the items yet. I was delighted when butterLONDON recently sent me the new Shine Out Loud collection including a new mascara, lip crayon and a matching nail lacquer for an honest review. And I just discovered a fourth product, Wink Eye Pencil in Union Jack Black hiding in the box they sent!! Shine Out Loud Collection celebrates the patent leather-like shine created by the products.
butterLONDON Iconoclast Mega Volume Lacquer Mascara
Right off the bat, what a great looking tube this mascara comes in! Love the look.
I opened it, and it has a tight opening that you pull the wand head through that takes off the excess mascara. I really like that because usually I have to take off the extra mascara on most wands.
The butterLONDON Iconoclast Mega Volume Lacquer Mascara wand itself is a bit complex. It is football shaped in the middle, and it has a ball tip to get a small lashes or to separate any lashes that need individual attention.
It took me one or two applications to decide how it would be easiest for me to use it. I go through my upper lashes with the football-shaped bristles first to lay down one coat, and then I go through with the ball tip and get my short inner lashes as well as my outermost lashes that are somewhat out of line. I get very nice coverage, good separation, curl, volume, and length. No clumping, no flaking, wears for hours on my lashes.
The shade is Brilliant Black, price $20. The mascara is carried at Ulta, and this is what the Ulta website says about it: “Revolutionary Patent Shine Fusion Polymers deliver intense, jet-black shine and beautiful lift for ultra-bold lashes. Conditioning formula thickens as it separates and an innovated molded brush ensures full and even application.” Although it doesn’t make my lashes shine (frankly, I’m not looking for shine!), I like it, it’s a wonderful mascara.
Here’s how the mascara looks on me.
butterLONDON Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon: Ladybird
The lip crayon also has innovative packaging. The tube has a built-in sharpener, yay! I can’t tell you how much I like that! I don’t have to search for my sharpener, and because it comes with the lip crayon, I’ll use it only for this lip crayon. I hate it when I don’t clean my regular sharpener well enough, and the color from the last pencil/crayon comes off on the next one.
The shade, Ladybird, is described as “tomato red” by butterLONDON. It’s a perfect shade for me, an orange-red or red-orange, take your pick. Straight orange can be difficult to wear, but this red-orange mixture is warm, bright and very wearable. I love it!
The butterLONDON Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayon formula is packed with antioxidants for protection and hydration. Although it is described as a “lacquer-like shine”, on me it’s a lovely satin finish. The formula is quite long-lasting on me, though it doesn’t last through a meal. I love this richly pigmented lip crayon that covers in one swipe. I would seek it out in other shades because it looks great, is so comfortable and easy to wear. Price $20.
butterLONDON Nail Lacquer: Ladybird
As I mentioned earlier, I think butterLONDON has a fabulous formula. It’s easy to apply, provides good coverage, great shine and is quite long-lasting. I used my own NYC Grand Central Station cheaper topcoat, but butterLONDON claims that their polish lasts even longer if you pair it with their own base and topcoats.
The Ladybird Nail Lacquer shade matches the lip crayon, and it looks great! It’s a terrific shade for summer or for anytime really. Check it out! Price $15.
butterLONDON Wink Eye Pencil
Oh, silly me! I didn’t dig down deep enough in the black box with the black confetti that butterLONDON sent me to find two boxes of Wink Eye Pencils in Union Jack Black underneath the other makeup! But here they are, fortunately in time for whoever the winner is to also receive a black eyeliner pencil. Goes on very easily, and it’s very black, described as Jet Black Creme. Price $18.
BTW, I noticed that Ladybird also comes in LIPPY Liquid Lipstick! and you can buy it either on its own for $18 or together with the Ladybird Nail Lacquer for $23 the pair. Also, when I was visiting the butterLONDON website, I noticed that if you leave a product review of a butterLONDON product that you’ve tried, you can get a $10 credit toward a future purchase. Sounds really good to me!
butterLONDON is sold at Ulta, Macy’s and on the butterLONDON website. The 4 items in the Shout Out Loud Collection retails for $73!
I’m so excited that butterLONDON sent one set for me to try out and another set that I’ve decided to giveaway to a lucky reader!
