So I was just about to sit down and write a blogpost. But first, I decided to shut the window in my master bathroom as the temperature outdoors was going down with the sun. Now that it’s October, I have taken in all of my houseplants that spent the summer outdoors. I usually hang my …
Between baking round challahs (or challot) for our upcoming holiday, Rosh Hashanah, I just didn’t have time to write a blogpost. Round challah rather than the long braided challah is chosen for this important holiday because it signifies the circle of the year that starts again. The round braided challah also represents a crown, a …
While my tech consultant is moving my website to a different server that he monitors, I am taking a day or two off from blogging. He already created a “staging site”, and next he has to move over the newer posts that I wrote after he put together the staging site. I’m excited and optimistic …
Thank you so much to all of you who haven’t unsubscribed and stopped following Never Say Die Beauty during the past few months. I realize that my website problems have been going on since late May. That’s a long time! To make matters worse, the service that used to deliver my daily blogpost to subscribers, …
Madmimi, the company that I’ve been using for the past 4 or 5 years to send out my blogposts, is closing its doors at the end of the week. I am very sad about it because Madmimi was very easy for me to use. And the two or three times I had a problem, their …
Yikes, too much drama this summer with my website! At midnight on Monday/Tuesday, I finished my blogpost for Tuesday (here’s the link to Tuesday’s post if you couldn’t load it either!). I tried to preview the post to make sure I didn’t have any glaring errors, but instead of seeing the blogpost I got a …
Belated Happy Canada Day and Happy Independence Day! Hope you celebrated with friends and family and enjoyed the time off. My aunt spent the holiday weekend with us. To try to entertain her (she’s 88 and has the beginnings of age-related dementia), we had a BBQ, went to fabulous outdoor fireworks, made a stop at …
While the web developer in the Philippines who tried to rebuild my website was able to download a new theme, the website still has a lot of errors and problems. Unfortunately, I didn’t discover those issues till after I paid him. For one thing, all my blogposts written after the old website “died” on June …
If you’ve been trying to read posts on Never Say Die Beauty since Thursday afternoon, you may have been sent back to the homepage rather than getting the post opened. So sorry for the frustration. On Monday, I will meet with an IT consultant at the company that hosts my website. Hopefully I will be …
One of my favorite local lunch places, Tartine, a Belgian restaurant, had been in Beverly for almost 10 years. I was sorry to see it go. But I was excited when I learned that one of my favorite tea shops from Salem MA was planning to open a second location in the former Tartine. Yay! …
Sorry, I disappeared for a couple of days. Luckily, I had a lot of fun things going on for my birthday, and I literally didn’t have time. Bar25 Newburyport MA Jeff and I went to a new to us restaurant in seaside Newburyport MA called Bar25. The restaurant offered drinks, of course, since it’s called …
The big day was supposed to be today that Marcia Friedman’s review was going to be live. But I had to make a change in the “author” so it be me instead of Marcia, and I forgot to schedule it. My bad. So please check in and say hello to Marcia on Friday, April 12! …
Today, I came across a wonderful Earth Month offer on Facebook from the beauty brand, Paula’s Choice, which has teamed up with TerraCycle, the recycling company. The TerraCycle/Paula’s Choice program offers to recycle all or at least most of your beauty empties, whether they are from Paula’s Choice or from other brands, for FREE during …
When we went to London in October, we took the tube to Camden Market on a warm, sunny day. Getting off at the Camden Town station and hitting the main street, I thought I had been returned to the 1960s-70s because the shops looked like Hippie Haven with brightly colored storefronts selling inexpensive merchandise and …
