Over the past several months, I’ve had the good fortune to try out a number of bath and body products from Perlier, the upscale Italian brand. The products were provided by iFabbo, the beauty blogger resource.
Last week, I tried Perlier Thermal Scrub, and I’ve been using it every couple of days since then.
The first thing that stood out to me when I took it out of the box was the beautiful, tranquil aqua color (my favorite color, BTW): the translucent aqua-tinted tub is enhanced by the aqua gel inside.
Next, when I opened the tub, I smelled the fresh but subtle scent that is appropriate for both men and women. As with other Perlier products, the scent is wonderful!
Italy is known for the rejuvenating effects of the treatments at its famed spas and thermal baths such as Montecatini Terme, one of the best known.
Thermal spas have existed in Italy since ancient times because of the dormant volcanoes located throughout the country that have created mineral-rich hot springs and mud. Perlier Thermal Scrub was born from that tradition. Since I can’t get to an Italian spa, Perlier seems like the next best thing.
More than just a scrub, Perlier Thermal Scrub is a beauty treatment for the skin. Perlier extracted essential micronutrients from volcanic rocks that work together with thermal water to give you healthy, beautiful skin.
Importantly, the gel contains mineral particles that function as the “scrub” to exfoliate dead skin cells. One of Never Say Die Beauty’s subscribers posted an article on Facebook today from Mother Jones about a new pollutant found in America’s Great Lakes: plastic microbeads from cleansing and exfoliating products. I was upset to think I may have used products with those plastic particles. Instead, Perlier Thermal Scrub contains small particles from volcanic rocks that help remove dead skin cells (no, you will not have rocks in your shower lol!). In addition to exfoliation, the larger mineral particles combine with the thermal water to stimulate skin cell regeneration within the epidermal layer. Both the large particles and the finer mineral powder smooth skin by removing rough patches and revealing healthy, new skin. At the end of a summer spent in the sun (even though I wore sunscreen), I can really use the restorative powers of Perlier Thermal Scrub. The energy from dormant volcanoes has been transformed into a potent anti-aging skin product.
So how does it feel to use Perlier Thermal Scrub? Like heaven. The gel is thick, easy to massage, but not oily. I hate when my bath tub is slippery with oil after using some scrubs. Perlier does not leave an oily film on my skin either. The small particles feel like they’re doing the job. The result: my skin felt smooth and lightly moisturized afterwards. The fresh fragrance smells wonderful while using the product, but it does not linger on the skin.
I don’t know about you, but I can never have too many bath products. And I didn’t have anything like this scrub. Perlier Thermal Scrub is available at the link to HSN.com, The retail price is $25, but Perlier is offering $5 off with the coupon code: iFabbo5.
