Although I still haven’t written my Best of 2025 product post, Korean beauty brand #OOTD’s Intensive Moisture Face Serum with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C (reviewed initially here) is definitely one of my favorite new-to-me skincare products. I received Intensive Moisture Face Serum in January 2024, and I used it up in December. That’s pretty amazing that it lasted me that long. And even more amazing, the folks at #OOTD sent me another tube of the serum as well as three more of their facial skincare products to try out.
Today, I will write about my experiences with #OOTD Glass Skin Rice Water Toner Pads.
Not surprisingly, rice water is a popular ingredient in Asian skincare products. The individual components of rice water include phenolic compounds, betaine, squalene, tricin, and rice bran. Because of those components, rice water is said to have beneficial effects on both skin and hair. As a facial skincare ingredient, rice water provides anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, whitening, photoprotective, and moisturizing benefits. I’ve used Tatcha Rice Wash Cleansing Grains and Tatcha Rice Wash Cream Cleanser on my skin to good effect, so I was happy to try out #OOTD’s new Rice Water Toner Pads introduced in late 2024.
While I think at this stage of the game, it is unlikely that I will truly have “glass skin”, I am still eager to keep my skin looking as good as it can.
#OOTD Glass Skin Rice Water Toner Pads‘ key ingredients and benefits include:
- Fermented Rice Extract: Contains amino acids, vitamin B, E, and minerals to keep the skin smooth, youthful, and bright.
- Retinol: As derivative of vitamin A, retinol helps neutralize free radicals to boost the production of elastin and collagen creating a“plumping” effect that reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and enlarged pores.
- Ceramide: Ceramides are lipids that make up to 50% of the skin composition to form the natural skin barrier. It plays an integral role in skin integrity, protection against the elements and skin structure. Without adequate ceramides, the skin barrier loses its integrity and becomes prone to various skin disorders and skin barrier dysfunction.
The jar contains 70 toner pads (also containing 4.05 fl. oz/120 ml of rice water) as well as a handy plastic tweezer that helps pickup individual pads without having to stick your fingers in the jar.
Each pad is truly well-saturated with rice water. There’s always more than enough to apply to my face, neck and decolletage (area of the upper chest, neck and shoulders).
Although #OOTD gives what could be daytime usage occasions for the toner pads (e.g. while drying your hair, before touching up your makeup), I use #OOTD Glass Skin Rice Water Toner Pads at night after cleansing. Because the pads contain retinol that makes skin more sensitive to the sun as well as the fact that retinol breaks down in sunlight, I strongly recommend using them as a nighttime toner.
They can also be used as a soothing mini-facial to refresh and perk up your skin, especially since they add moisture via hyaluronic acid to your skin that may be exposed to the dry winter indoor air. Because the pads are soaked with skin-loving ingredients, they adhere to my skin easily.
I really like #OOTD Glass Skin Rice Water Toner Pads, and I think you would too! The pads are appropriate for sensitive skin, and they are vegan and cruelty-free. #OOTD has a sale going on on their website, and the Toner Pads are now priced at $19.99 instead of $25. Oh, I just noticed that #OOTD Rice Water Toner Pads are sold on Amazon at a lower price of $16.99!
