Although I was very relaxed during our stay in Costa Rica, coming back home has upset that feeling of calm. The perfect time to take out my previously unused RITUALS Balancing Candle that I bought on sale a year ago after the holiday season.

I could definitely use some balance in my life these days. The Balancing Candle is positioned as an aid to meditation or relaxation. The instructions on the red box recommend lighting the candle, positioned at eye level.
Next, stare at the lit candle for 1 minute. RITUALS says to “Allow the image of the flame to occupy your mind” while you let go of thoughts.
It actually works for a minute or two, lol.
Fortunately, the scented candle smells lovely with the Ayurveda fragrance, a combination of Indian rose, plum and exotic spices. To me, it smells a spicy, fruity and rich. I have other Ayurveda scented bath and body products from RITUALS that I have bought repeatedly. It’s very pleasant to extend that scent in my home. Even if staring at the candle flame for a minute doesn’t provide lasting calm, the Ayurveda fragrance certainly does help relax me for a while.
My candle comes in a heavy red smooth glass votive holder. It weighs 4.9 oz/140 g and is 2.5″ x 3″. It must have been a limited edition size candle last year (a stocking stuffer, perhaps?), because now the Ayurveda collection has two larger candles that come in deep red glass with etched vertical lines that are indeed handsome: 290 g for $30 and 840 g for $76.
