My Experiences So Far with Il Makiage Wrinkle Filler
As usual, I am susceptible to the siren-song of skincare products that promise to turn back the clock. I decided to order Power Redo Wrinkle Filler because Il Makiage has a return policy: try it before being charged for it. I set up a one month period to try the product before I will be charged.
Wrinkle Filler can be used to reduce the look of noticeable pores, small scars or textural issues in addition to fine lines and wrinkles. I’m using it to try to camouflage my wrinkles. So far, to be honest, I think this product would work better for those who are younger and/or just starting to see fine lines. But I will most likely continue using it because I misplaced the original packing slip/invoice that’s required for a return.
I have used Wrinkle Filler only a few times so far because I keep forgetting to use it. Also, it is critical to check out how to correctly apply the product. I used it three times incorrectly before I read about how to apply it. The following are Il Makiage’s instructions:
“It can take practice to unlock Power Redo’s magic. Follow the steps below to get it right!
1. Use after your skincare is fully absorbed.
2. Apply a small amount in a single layer where you want to blur. Less is more!
3. Softly blend with your finger in one direction. Avoid rubbing back-and-forth.
4. Wait a few minutes to fully dry before applying makeup. Don’t rub or add more while it’s drying.
5. Tap on makeup very gently, so you don’t buff away Power Redo.”
It’s not a super-quick process. And each of the steps above is important. Make sure that everything on your face is dry before proceeding.
The key is step 3: apply a tiny amount to each area where you have wrinkles. With your finger moving in the direction of the wrinkle, tap the cream in to fill the wrinkle. Then let it dry completely before you gently apply your foundation. Because I’m using solid foundation, I apply the foundation to my brush and gently tap it onto my face where I have Wrinkle Filler.
BTW, you do not need primer because Power Redo Wrinkle Filler is the primer.
Packaging and Ingredients
The Power Redo Wrinkle Filler packaging is beautiful, though smaller than I expected. The square jar is make from heavy glass, I think.
The embellished top is magnetic so that the lovely silver scoop adheres to the top of the jar so you can’t lose it. Nice.
The product itself is a peach-colored balm: it’s thicker than a cream. It has a velvety feeling on your finger as you tap it on as well as a velvety feeling on your face afterwards. It is mattifying though not drying.
The key ingredients are:
- Juvinity™: Cutting-edge, anti-aging ingredient that visibly softens signs of aging, smooths the appearance of wrinkles, and delivers a more nourished, soft, and youthful look.
- Coffee Seed (Koffee’Up™): Energizing natural antioxidant, packed with natural fatty acids that hydrate, nourish, and strengthen the look of skin.
- Vitamin C: Natural, brightening antioxidant that minimizes the look of discoloration, reduces the appearance of dullness that comes with aging, and enhances skin’s natural glow.
- Rosehip Oil: Natural botanical oil, packed with essential vitamins, antioxidants, and fatty acids that help minimize the appearance of scars, wrinkles, redness, and inflammation.
Frankly, I wonder what “Juvinity” actually is? It appears to be the filler.
Here’s the complete ingredient list composed of ingredients that are mostly unfamiliar to me (except for Dimethicone, Talc, Rosehip Oil, and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride that is often found in anti-aging moisturizers:
CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, DIMETHICONE, POLYSILICONE-11, NYLON-12, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, ALUMINUM STARCH OCTENYLSUCCINATE, GERANYLGERANYLISOPROPANOL, COFFEA ARABICA (COFFEE) SEED OIL, LAURETH-12, IRON OXIDES (CI 77491, CI 77492), TALC, ROSA CANINA FRUIT OIL, ASCORBYL TETRAISOPALMITATE
Wrinkle Filler contains no added fragrance, and to me, the product appears to have no scent at all.
Il Makiage Power Redo Wrinkle Filler contains 20 ml/0.068 fl. oz., a small amount of product for $69. It is sold on the Il Makiage website as well as on Amazon. Il Makiage offers subscriptions: so if you love it, you can get it for less.
My Thoughts on Wrinkle Filler So Far
Although I love the feel of my skin after using Il Makiage Power Redo Wrinkle Filler, I’m not sure how well it camouflages my lines and wrinkles. I need to use it a little more to come to a definitive assessment of its performance on my skin.
After reading through about a zillion consumer reviews (especially those left by women who purchased the product themselves), there is a percentage of women who use Wrinkle Filler as their day-to-day look without foundation because they believe that it provides coverage without color. I think that’s a real benefit, so I will give that a try as well.
Have you tried Il Makiage Power Redo Wrinkle Filler yet? If so, what do you think about it? If you haven’t tried it, is it a product you would be interested in?

I have so many issues with Il Makiage as a company, but some of their products I do like. The shady marketing tricks and terrible customer service are really difficult to get past though.
Good to know, Gabrielle. Their website makes it easy to start a return or exchange, which I thought was a good sign. But I have never had any dealings with their customer service, so I didn’t know. I hate that Il Makiage tries to upsell you before you can checkout, but Thrive does it as well. I wasn’t aware of other “shady marketing tricks” beyond their “try it and if you don’t like it, return it” strategy that I think is a good idea, in general. I think their Wrinkle Filler is a good product for those who are just starting to see wrinkles, but I think I have turned the corner and there’s no going back, lol
They promised me a “valuable luxury gift” so I spent more than I should have and… got a sixty cent scrunchie. I honestly felt so stupid and duped that I cried for an hour. To add insult to treachery, I have short hair. The scrunchie went straight into the garbage can. Complaints to customer service netted meaningless form letter nonsense. I still feel like a conman’s victim from a Netflix documentary.
Oh my goodness, that is the worst, Gabrielle! I am so sorry. It doesn’t make any sense. When I bought the Wrinkle Filler, I was surprised that they sent me a liquid eyeliner. You should have received a “valuable” gift, like some sort of full size product. I’m not going to return the WF, but I won’t buy anything else from the brand now that I know how you were treated. I can’t believe they sent you a form letter in response to your very justified complaint.
I’m glad you at least got an eyeliner. But I’m also glad to hear you won’t be buying from them again. They’re just not good people.
Right you are!
Funny because after spending $270 I got a scrunchie too !!! Ironically I have short hair also I laughed I was hoping for one of the products to actually try !!!
Geez, I can’t believe Il Makiage is such a cheapskate brand! I will make sure Gabrielle sees your reply.
I’ve had trouble with Il Makiage as well. They sent me refills of a product I bought even though I didn’t sign up for refills. I go through products slowly and they sent the refill quickly. Getting out of it was a pain. I like their moisturizer and I love that the top is magnetic so I don’t lose the spatula.
If I ever finish all the moisturizers I currently own, I will try the Il Makiage moisturizer since you have had a good experience with it, and I adore the magnetic top that holds the spatula. I hope they haven’t subscribed me to the Wrinkle Filler! I definitely don’t want to have to figure out how to cancel!
IL MAKIAGE liquid eyeliner and mascara is the only brand that I will actually go out of my way to buy, full priced or not! The liquid eyeliner isn’t going anywhere until I want it to. HOWEVER, the “Power Redo” wrinkle filler/smoother, doesn’t impress me at all. It’s very iffy process of “is this the right amount?”, followed by another long process of, “Is it dry yet?”, that you WILL have to repeat if you try to answer those questions too quickly..
Every video I watched for better application techniques say to wait until completely dry, but never show you their actual dry time in real time. It’s definitely not for deep lines, by the time you figured out your “processing times”, you’d have new wrinkles to fill! JK😘
I’m 69 and wrinkles when I smile, normal- forehead, sides of eyes and mouth. Honestly the power wrinkle filler did nothing. Costs way too much and the small container already had a finger scoop out of the middle.
OMG, that’s ridiculous especially about the finger scoop out of the middle of the jar, and especially at that price! Did you let Il Makiage know? Did you bother to return it? I agree with you, it doesn’t do much. Have you tried any of the K-beauty products with Volufiline? They cost about one-quarter of the price of the Il Makiage, and supposedly they work to fill as well as over time. I’m now using Abib 2.5 PDRN Volume Fill-It, and it has a similar consistency to the Il Makiage but comes in a tube to help the cream maintain its efficacy. There are several different competing Korean brands. They’re all priced around $12-15/tube and many are on sale for Mother’s Day. Thanks, Lori, for taking the time to weigh in.
