From NPR: Article on the Science of Red Light Therapy

Yesterday, I read a well-researched article by Maria Godoy, Senior Editor/Correspondent at the NPR Science Desk. Although I could have summarized her article, it seemed much more sensible to publish her article so that you can read it yourself. The article also comes with live links that will allow you to follow up with additional information if you are interested.

As you may know, I am a fan of red light therapy. I’ve been using a red light device, the Vega from SpaceTouch (reviewed here in August 2022) for the past almost 4 years. I still try to use it on my face about 3 times a week. At my age, I can’t complain with the results! Next, I have to start using it on my temples to see if it will help accelerate hair growth.

Enjoy Maria Godoy’s article, or you can listen to it in the frame below Maria Godoy’s photo.

  1. My dermatologist recommended a red light cap for my thinning hair. She said many of her patients had had success with it. But, the cost!!! I’m still trying to decide. It’s good to see there is science behind all of this. I don’t have a mask, but, again, it’s something I’ve been thinking about. This article was good in that it gave numbers and other things to look for before purchasing. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Marsha, did she suggest a brand? I saw that Beauty Pie is selling red light caps. I had never seen a cap before.
