Banish was started as a brand to “banish” acne scars. Thus, Banish’s point-of-difference is a microneedling tool that helps with the absorption of their freshly made skincare products. They sent me a variety of skincare products as well as a tool and the microneedling heads that fit onto it.
To be honest, I haven’t tried the microneedling tool yet. While I think I have too many ongoing eye problems to use it around my eye area, I intend to use it primarily on my temples to find out if microneedling will encourage even more hair growth when I use my nightly hair growth products. I also plan to use it to see if microneedling will help skincare products work better to fade not only fine lines but the dark spots that I’ve developed over the years. I’ll get back to you on those goals in time.
Banish Instant Lift Brightening Eye Cream
In the meantime, I discovered Banish Instant Lift Brightening Eye Creme in the bag of goodies I received. I decided I wanted to try Banish Instant Lift Brightening Eye Creme on its own. You know how I love to try new-to-me eye creams! This one is “an all-in-one” eye cream. It is meant to be use around the entire eye area.
The first time I opened the jar, I was surprised. The eye cream is a bright white non-soupy, non-runny cream. So many eye creams are lightweight even in the jar or tube. Not so the Banish Eye Creme. The texture reminds me of old-school Noxzema (I realize you have to be of a certain age to know what I’m talking about: Noxzema in the cobalt glass blue jar.) I scooped out a small amount of the Banish Instant Lift Brightening Eye Creme, and I patted it all around one of my eyes. First, it has no fragrance. Second, the “hard” bright white cream disappeared almost on contact into my skin, and it feels as light as a feather on my skin. Third, I felt and feel a cooling effect every time I use it. Initially, I was totally surprised by that sensation (again, kind of like the old Noxzema), but it feels great especially in the heat and humidity of summer!
My interest is primarily in its hydrating and firming/lifting qualities, and it does not disappoint. 🙂
Banish Instant Lift Brightening Eye Creme was designed also to depuff under eye bags. I have a strong feeling that that’s the reason for the cooling effect. And the bright white creme does something to help camouflage dark circles.
Finally, Banish Eye Creme is also a primer. It can be worn under makeup with perfection. I apply Beauty Pie Superluminous Eye Corrector over Banish Eye Creme under my eyes, and it doesn’t crease. Not at all. Today, I didn’t have time to apply eye primer, but I had used Banish Instant Lift Eye Creme above my crease, in the crease and on my eyelid. I applied my eyeshadow on top of Banish, and it has stayed put all afternoon and evening.
I’m impressed with this literally “cool” eye cream! And I discovered that Banish makes their products fresh daily in their headquarters in Pasadena CA.
The key ingredients include:
- Hydrating: Squalane and glycerin lock in moisture
- Firming: Matrixyl 3000 and peptides boosts collagen
- Brightening: Vitamin C and gentle acids help even skin tone
- Depuffing: Green tea soothes puffy eyes.
As you can see below, it’s loaded with plant-based extracts and oils, antioxidants plus well-known hydrating and anti-aging ingredients. In addition, it contains preservatives potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate so that the freshly made eye cream remains fresh longer than it would without them. It has no silicone so it works well with foundation and other makeup. As I mentioned above, it’s fragrance-free and also cruelty-free.
