Busy, Busy

The last couple of days have been busy, busy. I haven’t gotten to write a review as I had hoped both yesterday and today. 

Today, I drove to the train station, took the train to Boston, took the subway to Sassoon on Boylston St. and got my hair re-reded. Then I walked a few miles back to the train station instead of taking the subway, took the train and drove home. We have had two gorgeous late spring days instead of the constant rain we’ve been having (though I am grateful that we’re not having the flooding that San Antonio and other parts of the country are dealing with), so I have been taking advantage of the sunshine and warmth before the temperature drops 20 degrees and it rains again this weekend.

I walked through the Public Garden and the Boston Common on my way to the train. Though I missed the linden trees being in bloom by two weeks (they smell heavenly when in bloom), the parks were green and lovely.

The swan boats are in the distance on the pond. Sorry I didn’t get closer.

When I finally got home tonight, my plants were looking very thirsty and watering them is a long process. I’m happy that the peonies are still in bloom.

Another unrelated thing that’s been taking me away from writing reviews: have you read The God of the Woods by Liz Moore? I was on the list at the library to get the book since October, and I finally got a copy of it from a friend. I literally can’t put the book down. It’s a mystery or thriller, and I am captivated. If you’re looking for a summer read, The God of the Woods is an excellent diversion!
