Since I needed a couple of new bras and I saw an ad for a big sale at Savage x Fenty, I decided to rejoin. At least for the short term.
Savage x Fenty, Rihanna’s lingerie, sleepwear and underwear brand for women (and men), makes some nice bras IMHO. In fact, one of the bras I bought probably 4 or 5 years ago is my favorite bra. The fabric is incredibly soft, it fits me perfectly, and it’s comfortable in spite of the fact that it’s an underwire bra. Unfortunately, I bought only one of that style.
The problem with SxF is that it’s a subscription business model, so in order to keep customers, e.g. members, buying more items, they need to come out with new models all the time. Boo!
Nevertheless, I was lured back by the deep discounts for “new” members. (Membership is free. However, if you don’t want the month’s special item to be sent to you, you have to pass or cancel by the 5th of the month.) I qualified as a new member by opening a new account.
I bought two bras, both on sale: one cost $14.95 and the second bra cost $17.95, the new member price. Can’t beat that!
Cotton Essentials Unlined Bra
The Cotton Essentials Unlined Bra is made from primarily from cotton. It’s soft, and the cotton fabric is neither too thin nor too thick. The body of the bra is 93% Cotton, 7% Elastane; Cup Lining: 93% Cotton, 7% Elastane; Mesh: 87% Nylon, 13% Elastane.
It has thin elastic straps that provide good support. It’s an underwire bra (don’t judge, I have always worn underwire and I like it) that also provide good support.
The sides and “ballet-style” back fit well without creating any bulges. It closes with two hooks and eyes. The molded cups provide shaping, and they fit me without any gaps or bulges. For me, it’s a comfortable bra.
I chose Black Caviar, though it comes in other colors, i.e. white, beige, gray, purple/black stripe, and a black and white pattern.
As I mentioned, I paid $17.95 for the Cotton Essentials Unlined Bra. I am keeping it.
Soft N’ Savage Unlined Demi Bra
What I love about the Soft N’ Savage Unlined Demi Bra is the “brushed tricot” fabric. I have no idea what brushed tricot is, but the bra’s fabric include: Body/Lining: 72% Recycled Nylon, 28% Elastane; Interlining: 77% Nylon, 23% Elastane. Regardless, the fabric feels just like the Savage x Fenty bra that I love so much from a few years ago.
Soft N’ Savage Unlined Demi Bra is unlined (per the name ;)), and it too is an underwire bra. The straps flow seamlessly into the cups for a smooth feel and a more refined look especially under form-fitting clothing. The cups are molded. Unfortunately for me, the left cup doesn’t fit me correctly. There’s a gap, and no matter how I try to adjust it, it doesn’t fit quite right.
The back and sides of this style are slimmer than the Cotton Essentials Unlined Bra. Sadly, the thinner sides and back are meant for a younger or fitter woman than I. My skin bulges a bit. So I will be returning the Soft N’ Savage Unlined Demi Bra in spite of how much I love the fabric. Shipping and returns are free for members.
It also closes with a double hooks and eyes.
I ordered Drama-Free Pink, a pale pink shade. It also comes in black, Brown Sugar Nude (deep brown), Honey Nude, and Sweet Latte Nude (an apricot shade). For some reason, the price has gone up to $19.95 for members.
If you have a slim, taut back and sides, I encourage you to check out this bra. For an everyday style bra, it’s the bomb.
Savage x Fenty‘s bras typically come in band sizes 30-46 and cup sizes A-H. By and large, I find that the bras that I have chosen (unlined, underwire) fit true to size. Surprisingly, the Soft N’ Savage Unlined Demi Bra is only the first or maybe second bra that I am returning.
