I found an offer somewhere on Facebook to try some makeup for free from a brand I wasn’t familiar with: GA-DE Cosmetics, an Israeli beauty brand created in 1985 that sells makeup, fragrance and skincare worldwide. Their color cosmetics emphasize color harmonies, shades that are designed to go together, especially in their shadow offerings. A week or so later, I received a very pretty eye shadow with three neutral shades embossed with a beautiful lace pattern in an attractive, substantial, square clear plastic case. Frankly, it was almost too pretty to use, so I just looked at it for a couple of weeks after I received it. Silly, right?
Today was a gloomy, rainy, chilly day in New England, a good day to stay in the house and play with makeup. So I took out the GA-DE Icon Lace Pearl Grace Eye Shadow Trio in Tender Nights. Look how pretty it is!
GA-DE is a buttery powder shadow, easy to blend on the lid. Because the three shades blend into each other in the compact, it can be a little tough to get at the middle shade that’s sandwiched in between the two others. So the two neutral shades were more or less a blend. I was concerned that the matte black might be too dark for me, but it reads a deep charcoal that is easily blended out and it’s a totally wearable shade for mature skin. The two lighter neutrals are satin shimmer shades. The light beige one is a shimmery champagne and the toasty light brown is actually a shimmery rose gold. Although they are not sheer – they’re what GA-DE calls “a satin veil”, they are very light colors that provide a lovely bright shimmery glow. I wish they were a bit more substantial, but I still liked the look I got, sort of a shimmery evening look. I was surprised when I looked at myself wearing it in a video, the brightness really shows up in spite of the paleness of the shades.

I stopped by the Gade site and their makeup looks quite nice. The packaging is also quite pretty .. their bronzers look a bit like Burberry 🙂

That’s great and thank you, Monica! I was amazed at how pretty this little embossed shadow trio is. And they really show up on my eyelids in spite of the fat that they’re neutrals. I didn’t look at the bronzers because I don’t wear them too much, but I noticed the quilting on some of the eye shadows that reminds me of Dior or Burberry. They really are beautiful and not too expensive.
These are gorgeous! I’m so bad about using makeup when it looks almost too pretty to be touched ,ha! Seriously though, gorgeous colors and you look absolutely beautiful!!

Any time, Natalie! I was lucky to find this freebie, I think on Facebook a few weeks ago. It’s a lovely little trio. Just enough shimmer for me to wear at night. I couldn’t find this exact trio on Amazon or on their website yet, but there are similar things. I’m wondering if this is brand new? I’d like to try some of their other makeup too 🙂
This is so pretty and I would probably still be looking at it and not using it because it’s so pretty. The colors are really nice though. They are something I would totally wear. Right up my alley
It was so pretty, I almost didn’t use it but then I felt guilty so I did. And I like it. I can’t wear too much glitter, shimmer but this was just enough and I was amazed that even though it’s not super bright, the shimmer really shows up.

What a lovely palette. I love the lighter shade and the middle one. The dark one doesn’t look smooth though. It’s always great to discover a new brand.
I like the two neutral shimmer shades, too. The black actually was very blendable and smooth, and thankfully it blended out to a charcoal for me. I was in a fog when I swatched these and did them on dry skin instead of on primer. My bad.
