Ulta Haul Summer 2015 Part 2

Recently, I posted about my Ulta mini-haul using my Ulta discount coupon. I showed you my Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Love Hangover and my Becca Ultimate Coverage Concealer in Tahini. Well, I decided the shades didn’t work for me so I took them back. I swapped them for shades that worked better for me, I think.

Here’s what I got this time!

I actually wanted one shade darker in the concealer, but Ulta didn’t have it in stock so I ended up with the lightest shade that is a bit too light for my skin now but hopefully will be OK once my slight tan fades.

Too Faced Love Flush Blush: Your Love Is King, Becca Ultimate Coverage Concealer in Praline

I was afraid the Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Your Love Is King might be too pigmented  (can anything be too pigmented?) and too bright or dark, but I bought a $3 elf stippling brush for applying the blush and it’s great! I really wanted a shade that was different from the peachy-pink shades I usually wear, and I got it.  😀

The Becca concealer in Praline (fair beige, neutral) is on the light side (in fact it’s almost impossible to see in the photo below). I wanted Butterscotch (light beige, warm/pink) but they were out, and I didn’t want to have to wait and come back a third time. I’d rather have a concealer that’s a bit too light than too dark.

So that’s it: Ulta haul 2.0! Thank you, Ulta, for making the exchange. Now I’m a happy camper!

Have you tried either of these two?

  1. That blush looks so dark in the pan, but I love how it looks on your swatch.

    1. I thought the same thing, Leelo. Applied with a stippling brush, it is perfect!

  2. The packaging of those Love Flush blushes is the cutest ever!

    1. Gotta love those hearts!

  3. Oh goodness I need that Too Faced blush!! I haven’t bought a new concealer in a while I may look into this one.

    1. Hahaha, the blush really is so cute and I do love the shade. The Becca concealer is really incredible. Definitely full coverage and long lasting!

  4. WOW, that blush is utterly stunning! Given the intensity of the color in the pan, I was worried that it might be too dark on the skin, but it is just gorgeous in your swatch, and it is very wearable!

    1. Me, too, Helen. I don’t think I tried it out when I made my first purchase because it looked too dark. But with a stippling brush, it is very wearable!

  5. I’m so glad stores like Ulta and Sephora will take cosmetics back that honestly just don’t work for us skin tone wise, etc. It’s great you are happy with your 2.0 haul! 🙂

    1. Thanks, Judy! Me too. I would hate to be stuck with shades that don’t work especially when buying the more expensive brands.

  6. Loving the blush! Looks perfect for a nighttime look.

    1. Yes, exactly, Brianna! I love that it can go on light with the stippling brush or heavier for nighttime. So pretty

  7. Awesome haul 😀 that blush is gorgeous.

    1. I love the blush shade. So nice to step out of my comfort zone!

  8. That blush is gorgeous and I picked up a Becca concealer a few weeks ago and I love it. I think it may be the same one, but I honestly don’t remember. Beauty addicts problems lol!

    1. You said it, Leigh! I love the concealer – such great coverage!

  9. Valerie C. says:

Thanks for posting this. Based on a couple of sites, I was going to order the Becca concealer in Butterscotch or Tahini…..now I see that I need Praline. The Too Faced blush looks gorgeous too.

    1. Praline is definitely the fairest of the shades. Since it sounds like your skin tone is fairer than mine, it should work well for you. I’m looking forward to wearing the TF Blush in the mauve/berry shade in the fall or even now with the right outfit and makeup! It’s so pretty

  10. Nataile Brown says:

I’m so glad you took these back and exchanged for shades that are better for you and made you happy! The elf stippling brush is perfect for applying heavily pigmented blushes. I also use it to apply highlighter so it goes on lighter. Yes, I’d much rather have a concealer that is too light than too dark. It’ll always work in the Fall & Winter months. Thanks for sharing Ulta 2.0. 🙂

    1. Thank you for encouraging me to exchange them, Natalie! You were right! They took them back with no questions asked, although the young sales associate tried to charge me the difference since I bought them originally with an Ulta discount coupon. I asked to speak to the manager and she straightened things out. That’s a good tip about using the stippling brush for highlighter too. Somewhere, I have a Becca rose gold highlighter that I must find that is too much with a blush brush, so if I ever find it, the stippling brush will be good for that too 🙂

  11. Praline is the shade I use, glad you found products that worked better for you!

    1. Aha! Yes, I’m glad I exchanged them. Love the blush for Fall and the other concealer shade that the SA matched me with was waaaaaay off!

  12. I love that blush, it’s the perfect fall shade!

    1. That’s what I was thinking too. It’ll look pretty with berry lipstick shades 🙂

  13. I’m glad they helped you be a happy camper. 🙂 The blush blends out to a very pretty color.

    1. It does look scary dark in the pan but with the stippling brush, it does blend out very nicely!

  14. The Too Faced Love Flush blushes are my newest addiction.

    1. Oh, now I’m jealous. How many do you have? 😉

  15. I love my Too Faced heart shaped blush and this color looks beautiful. Good job on try #2.

    1. Thanks, Marcia 😉 Glad you’re enjoying your TF blush. It really lasts and lasts!

  16. I love these blushes!

    1. They are so cute and wear forever. Love ’em!

  17. So glad you showed that blush! I skipped it thinking it was way too dark! I need it now

    1. With the right brush, it really isn’t too dark! Go for it 🙂

  18. That blush is really adorable!!! If I’m only I’m a blush person, I’d hoard! I am a bronzer gal

    1. Yes, bronzer looks fabulous on you, Kathryne. On me, it makes my face look dirty lol or I haven’t really found the right one or the right way to apply it. And I do love blush especially heart-shaped ones!

  19. Crazy pigmented blushes always scare me just a bit, as I always think I end up giving myself clown face, but that shade is so amazing!

    1. I feel the same way but the stippling brush is fabulous for applying Your Love Is King and keeping it from being too much 🙂

  20. Loved the Too faced Love flush blush. That heart shape packing is so cute.

    1. The heart shape is what sold me on it, Alpana <3

  21. I had to buy all of those blushes =( I went in thinking I’d get one… then I loved them all so I’m like… ok I’ll buy 3… seriously 45 minutes later I bought them all lol They are too good!

    1. OMG, that’s so cute. I’ll be over to your house to help you play with them all!

  22. Jess Scull says:

LOVE those blushes! You can definitely sheer it out!

    1. Yes, the stippling brush works well to pick up less blush and blend it out!

  23. That blush color is so pretty and I agree with you about the lighter vs. darker concealer. 🙂

    1. I decided to go for something a little different this time. I think the berry shade will be great for fall! And definitely a better concealer shade than the one the SA picked out for me!

  24. Oooh I really like that blush! The compact is cute too!

    1. The heart shape is so cute. It’s what sold me on the blush

  25. THIS is the blush I need! I love a deep shade! 🙂

    1. I think you’d like Your Love Is King. It’s such a great berry shade, perfect for fall!

  26. What a fantastic haul! Love it!

  27. What a gorgeous blush shade moving into Fall!

    1. I thought so too!
