As part of my April Zoya polish haul, I chose Blu, a pastel, cool tone, baby blue cream shade.
I don’t have all that many blue shades, and the ones I do have tend toward aqua. So this was a departure for me.
Because of its cool tone, I think it might look better on cool-toned or neutral toned skin, but it would probably look good with a tan, too. It would certainly work as an accent color for anyone. I really like this shade, and I think it will be a good base for toppers like Monet and a good choice to use in a polka dot mani along with my aqua shades.
I applied two coats over a coat of Revlon Colorstay basecoat, and I applied a coat of Deborah Lippmann topcoat and a coat of Orly Sec ‘n Dry on top. I used essence express drying drops to dry the polish in a flash.
Sorry it’s not the neatest mani in the world! That’s what I get for doing my nails before bed in the semi darkness 😉 Nevertheless, the mani has lasted me a week with no chips and minimal signs of wear. Yes!
As I’ve mentioned before, Zoya is 5-free (free of toluene,dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and camphor). It’s also cruelty-free. I recently read a great article from Redbook listing 10 Non-toxic Polishes that Actually Work, and Zoya was right there!
Each bottle contains 0.5 fl.oz. It’s made in the U.S. Blu’s regular price is $9. I bought it on zoya.com this time, but it’s also available at Ulta, on Amazon and at select salons.

Lovely light blue .. I do love Zoya, but have been limiting my nail polish as I’m becoming a hoarder .. lol.
I still wander through the nail polish section at Ulta .. you never know – there may be that ONE perfect shade that I have to have 😉

I have this! It’s really pretty – almost white. Pastels have such a tricky formula sometimes.
