Bummer, the RealHer Lipliner, Elegant Charm, that I got in my September 2025 BoxyCharm/Ipsy box has been discontinued. This is disturbing for three reasons:
- I really like this dual-ended lipliner, but it’s listed on the RealHer website as “sold out”. However, it seems to be discontinued and replaced by a different lipliner, Retractable Lip Liner, a single-ended lip liner that comes in 8 different shades.
- What’s really weird is that the Elegant Charm lip liner is described as having a lip liner on one end and a smudger on the other. Huh? Not true. It has two colored lip liners on each end, and no smudging device at all.
- It appears that RealHer dumped their remaining lip liners on Ipsy to be given out in the September BoxyCharm boxes. I dislike the idea of Ipsy giving out soon to be discontinued product. They used to give out brand new products to introduce them and create a buzz. What gives, Ipsy?
Nevertheless, the RealHer Lip Liner I received isn’t spoiled and doesn’t seem like “old product”, thankfully. It’s smooth and actually easy to apply. It’s creamy and moisturizing, though there’s no ingredient list, so I’m not sure which moisturizing ingredients are in it. Strange. The liner is long-wearing, and it doesn’t fade unless you find yourself eating oily or greasy food.
I love the fact that one of the liners is a pretty universal light red while the other end is a neutral peachy-pink, both good shades for me.
So in spite of RealHer’s confusion about what their dual-ended lip liner really was, and Ipsy’s lowered standards in terms of giving out discontinued products, I really like this lip liner and will continue to use it. Sorry it’s not something that you could pick up, unless you would shop on Mercari, eBay and Poshmark where other Ipsters are selling the products they received.

Ipsy has a long history of sending discontinued, or soon to be discontinued, items. That’s why I cancelled my subscription over a decade ago. I’m sorry you fell in love with an unobtainable item.
I am so sad I love my Realher was discontinued, it doesn’t look like they are even making the retractable liners anymore. I have swatched dozens of liners and cannot find one that matches 😫 so disappointed
Amy, I am quite sure that RealHer has gone out of business. Nevertheless, they are still selling RealHer lipliners on Amazon. I don’t believe that they are retractable, but if you are looking for a shade that you loved, it might be worth a look on Amazon. Good luck 🙂
