A Perfect Match: LYS Beauty Triple Fix Skin Tint Foundation

I Bought This - Affiliate links

Early in the summer, BoxyCharm included LYS Beauty Triple Fix Blurring Skin Tint in my bimonthly box. Unfortunately, the shade LN6 was too dark and golden for my pink skin with blue undertones. I continued using it primarily as a concealer, but the color wasn’t right.

On Saturday, we went to the mall so Jeff could do an errand, and after he was finished, I ran into Sephora. I was on a mission to see if the little Sephora near me had a better match for my skin tone in the LYS Triple Fix line. Fortunately, a sales associate offered her help as I walked into the store. She quickly came up with the correct shade for me: LN3, Bone Blush also called Light Nude for fair skin with neutral undertones.

The neutral undertones seemed to work on me because it was the second lightest shade.

I also swatched LP4, Vanilla, for light skin with pink undertones, but it was slightly too dark for me. Weird.

My Favorites in Foundation

For more than two years, CoverFX has been my favorite foundation. Unfortunately, CoverFX seems to be discontinuing Total Cover Cream Foundation. During a CoverFX sale a month or so ago, they were out of my shade so I called customer service to find out when my shade would be back in stock. The customer service rep recommended that I buy my shade on Amazon while it was still in stock there. I asked her point blank if Total Cover was being discontinued, and she gave me a vague reply telling me that the customer service reps don’t have that kind of information. My shade has been out of stock for about 5 months. The only shades that are in stock are the deeper shades. If you wear a deeper shade of foundation, act now while Total Cover is $8.

Since the handwriting is on the wall for the end of Total Cover, I decided to buy the appropriate LYS shade to begin my transition to the new foundation.

What I love about both Cover FX Total Cover and LYS Triple Fix is that they are both a cinch to apply. You can apply both of them with a brush, a sponge or with your fingers. They’re super quick to apply and easy to blend. Both of them last till I remove them.

Another key benefit of both is that they can be used as both concealer and foundation. When I’m not doing anything major, I can use either one to cover my dark spots without needing to apply a full face of makeup.

More About LYS Beauty Triple Fix Blurring Skin Tint Foundation

The “triple fix” of the LYS Triple Fix Blurring Skin Tint Foundation is actually:

  • skin serum
  • primer
  • foundation.

Though they don’t list “concealer”, I use it as a quadruple fix! The stick foundation is buildable (which is why it makes a good concealer), and you can use it for sheer all the way to full coverage.

Although I am somewhat mystified by all the name changes for this product from Triple Fix Serum Skin Tint Foundation to Triple Fix Blurring Skin Tint Foundation to Triple Fix Blurring and Hydrating Skin Tint Foundation, the stick foundation is good for dry skin like mine. It is hydrating, has a natural finish, not at all greasy, and it doesn’t emphasize texture of the skin or settle into lines.

LYS Beauty Triple Fix Blurring Skin Tint Foundation is now priced at $27 per tube that contains 0.25 oz. I like that triangular shape because it’s so easy to use under eyes, near the nose, any place where it’s tight. Good stuff. LYS Triple Fix is sold on the LYS Beauty website, at Sephora and at Credo where it’s currently on sale for $21.60.

LYS Beauty is a black-owned company, and a clean beauty brand infused with skincare ingredients. It’s cruelty-free and vegan. Packaging is recyclable or uses 30% post-consumer-recycled ingredients.

I bought this at Sephora in the same shade as you. I like that the coverage isn’t heavy and how comfortable it feels on. I think it can be built up but I don’t like too much foundation on.

Interesting! It looks like we have similar coloring. I tried the same shades and ended up buying LN3 as well. I use it often. I have the Dior stick foundation too, but, use the LYS more. It’s more natural looking. I have a friend who loves the LYS liquid foundation. I think that formula has a bit less coverage though. Thanks for the great review!

    1. That’s cool, Valerie! I heard that Dior Stick Foundation is also terrific especially for women with very dry skin. But I’m glad you think LYS looks more natural because I can’t afford to buy the Dior stick right now!! I’ve lost interest in liquid foundation for the best couple of years because I guess I’m too lazy to apply it correctly 😀

  3. I also like to build up my foundation. I think it works better that way. For me that is, I have a very dry skin.

  4. Does it feel tacky or does it dry down? I haven’t worn a liquid/stick foundation in years, but I’m beginning to think I’d like to try some. I just don’t like the feeling of it being wet…some of that may be user error, though…hahaha!! I’m glad you were able to find your correct color! Don’t you just hate it, though, when something you love gets discontinued?

    1. There’s a big different between liquid and stick or cream foundation. Liquid does feel a little bit wet till it dries in a minute or two, but cream doesn’t feel wet at all. I think that liquid foundation is indeed a little harder to apply, but as long as you don’t put too much on your brush or sponge, it shouldn’t feel overly wet. LYS Beauty stick foundation is great because you dab a little in various spots on your face and then just blend it in with your fingers or brush. It’s a cinch to apply, and because it’s a cream it’s not wet at all. And I couldn’t agree with you more about hating when something I love is discontinued!!
