I really like my EYEMOS Heated Eye Mask & Massager. But there’s one key limitation: the cord that must be attached to the mask and to an electrical source. While using the EYEMOS, I have to lie flat on my back. I know it’s only for about 20 minutes or so, but it’s limiting. As a result, I have continued looking for a heated mask that’s able to “cut the cord”. And I found one.
Wushxi Silk Cordless Heated Eye Mask has a fast charging USB-C cord that you plug into the front of the mask and then plug the USB-B end of the cord into an electrical source.
The mask is able to store the charge via a built-in 1000mAh lithium-ion battery, so it can be unplugged while using it. After using it for a couple of weeks, I have found that I can use it for two nights or sessions before it needs to be recharged.
The silky polyester mask has two levels of heat by pressing the button on the front of the mask:
- holding it for a longer time to reach the red LED: 123°F to 131°F for dry eyes, strain relief, and muscle relaxation
- holding it for a shorter time for the blue LED: 113°F to 122°F for gentle warmth for soothing sleep and stress relief
The mask shuts itself off after 30 minutes. It’s wonderful that I can move around and even fall asleep wearing the mask. No cord, no need to shut it off. No boundaries!
The removable satiny cover can be washed – another benefit vs. the EYEMOS. The Wushxi also has a satiny pull string case for travel.
The Wushxi Cordless Mask is a flat silky mask. Unlike the EYEMOS mask, the Wushxi Cordless isn’t contoured to form a hollow around the eyes to create steam and keep the steam in. And there’s no massage function. The trade-off is fine with me!
But as far as I’m concerned, the key benefits of the Wushxi (cordless and removable/washable cover) outweigh the perfectly contoured shape of the EYEMOS. Plus the Wushxi is less expensive than the EYEMOS, at least where I ended up buying it: on Amazon for $29.99 instead of $55+.
