Sometimes things happen for a reason. Or at least happen serendipitously!
Not long ago, I used up the root touch-up powder that I apply to my part between hair colorings. I had been using that brand for quite a few years, and I was satisfied with it. But the following day, I was asked if I wanted to try a new-to-me brand. Certainly, I replied!
I was surprised when I received two shades of red hairline powder from Boldify because the containers as well as the powders within reminded me so much of the brand that I had used for so long. Frankly, I wondered if that brand had changed their name to Boldify! But I looked up the other brand, and they still exist.
Boldify Hairline Powder comes in a small round flip-top case with a mirror on top and a rounded applicator that you pull off the bottom.
You dip the applicator into the powder and apply it to wherever you need color. As I mentioned, I use powder touch-up on my roots in between colorings. But you can use it to cover a widening part or areas where scalp is showing more than you wish. You can even use it to cover greys even if you don’t color your hair.
I find that it’s easy to apply. For me, 3 or 4 taps along my part does the trick. And if I don’t change my part, the color lasts me for 4 days till my next shampoo (though Boldify guarantees that it will last 2 days). Plus when I do go to the salon to get my color touched up, my colorist is able to apply new color right over the powder. No problems, no issues.
Because I apply Boldify Hairline Powder to the top of my head, it stays put there, i.e. it doesn’t come off on my pillowcase or elsewhere. Boldify says that it is stain-free. Honestly, I’ve never had any problems with root touch-up powder being messy or staining.
Importantly, it doesn’t itch or irritate my scalp. Boldify Hairline Powder contains the emollient squalane that provides hydration without greasiness to hair and scalp. In addition, Boldify Hairline Powder washes out easily when I shampoo.
Boldify Hairline Powder comes in 14 shades. I received Auburn and Dark Auburn, and Auburn is a very good match for my haircolor that fades during the month.

and I have the regular sizes. I find that the regular size will last me for a couple of years since I only need to cover my part.
What delighted me as well as the performance of the Boldify product is the price. The brand I was using beforehand contained 0.13 oz. for $39.99, priced at more than twice as much for not quite the same amount.
