March is City Beauty’s “birthday month”, and they are celebrating with a sale for us. And just in time for me. I thought I had stockpiled several City Lips Plumping Lip Glosses in Clear, but I was wrong. I have one more to go, and because I go through one every month, that’s not enough. So I will certainly take advantage of the sale.
The way the BOGO event works is:
- put 2 tubes of gloss (or multiples of 2) in your cart (any shades!)
- add the code LIPPIE50 at checkout
- the price will reflect the discount: Buy 2 and pay for one!
Just to clarify, this sale is only for City Lips Plumping Lip Gloss, not for any of the other products in the City Lips collection like the Plumping Oil, the Lip Liner, Night Oil.
And to make things even more interesting, City Lips is introducing a new shade for Spring: Raspberry! I haven’t seen Raspberry yet, and I don’t even have a photo of the tube or the swatch. But hopefully, there will be a photo of it on the City Beauty website today, the start of the sale. (I’m writing this the night before so that’s why I haven’t been able to check the website!)

Now my question is: Should I buy 2 tubes of Clear that I will definitely use? Or should I try Raspberry, the new shade, and pair that with one tube of Clear? Oh, decisions, decisions.
I jumped on the site so I could try their new berry shade, but it’s already sold out. I’ve written them a couple times asking for a true red gloss, but it never happens. The berry shade looked good, but sadly is already gone.
Oh no, Julie. I am so sorry! I have a feeling that they didn’t make a lot of ’em because this is the first time they didn’t send us one to try out. I’ve been so busy this morning, I forgot to look, but I will go look at it now. I will also ask my contact when they plan on having more (but it is sad because we all want to try it on sale!)
Julie, I just went to the City Beauty site and I did see that Raspberry is unavailable now. Boo! I will ask about it. But I did notice that Holly seems to still be available. I have Holly, and it is gorgeous. It’s a true red but it does have a bit of a golden shimmer. I think it’s really pretty, and I wear it when I go out for the evening. Several years ago, they made an opaque red, and fortunately for me, I still have a little left in the tube.
I like Holly, a tad too shimmery for days. I want so very much to have a red gloss. I have most of the pink, peach, and plum shades, but a true red would be so very nice. I did write, never had a reply. I just will keep hoping. I know a few friends that would also appreciate a non shimmer red as well. Plenty out there, but not in this amazing formula! Thanks, Julie F
If my client contact is still at City Beauty, I will mention the interest in a plain red shade (w/o the sparkles, though the sparkles in last season’s Xmas red were not very noticeable). I agree with you, a red gloss is the bomb!
