It’s summer. Today was somewhere between 93° to 98°F. And I bought a hot water kettle.
Italian design always commands my attention. No surprise that I’ve always been a fan of Alessi, Italian maker of home accessories and kitchenware created by designers.
The “Plissé” collection was and is on sale. Plissé means pleated, like a pleated skirt or dress. Designed by Michele De Lucchi, the Plissé collection of small kitchen appliances caught my eye because the design is so unique. The pleated collection is both fashionable and architectural. Manufactured from thermoplastic resin and metal, the items are lightweight and functional.
I acted as soon as I saw that a forest green Plissé electric kettle was on sale for 60% off, and I’m glad that I did since the kettle is currently sold out. The electric kettle also comes in red-orange, white, and black. The red-orange is also sold out now. The white and black kettles come in two sizes, while the green and red-orange only come in the slimmer size, measuring as follows:

It has a US plug and is 1500 watts. The kettle easily fits onto a round bottom into which the plug fits. It has a small clear plastic switch at the bottom to start the heating process. The switch turns red while it’s heating and goes back to clear when finished. The kettle itself can sit on the counter or table when serving.

OMG. You must have seriously disposable cash! I would not pay even their SALE prices, even if I had it, which I do not. My electric kettle was about $40, on sale. But enjoy yours!!
LOL, LuAnn! When I bought the Alessi electric kettle, it was 60% off of $130 so it was around $52. I honestly don’t know if the price went up from $130 to $150 because of tariffs or what? And then I got the larger early discount which is why I acted so fast. I always wanted an Alessi kettle so I figure if not now, when?
