In addition to the Peptide Plumping Moisturizer, I also received:

  • Pro-Collagen Peptide Gloss Balm Lip Treatment (this is a new-to-me product!)
  • Pro-Collagen Peptide Firming Eye Serum, the new addition to the Pro-Collagen lineup.

I haven’t had a chance to try the above duo yet, so I will come back and talk about my experiences with them at a later date. Nevertheless, here’s what Paula’s Choice has to say about them.

Pro-Collagen Peptide Gloss Balm Lip Treatment

The Pro-Collagen Peptide Gloss Balm Lip Treatment has gotten my attention because I wonder how it compares to my beloved City Lips Plumping Lip Gloss Clear?

Pro-Collagen Peptide Gloss Balm is:

“A clinically proven lip treatment with 3X pro-collagen peptides visibly plumps, smooths & nourishes instantly & over time.”

“Pro-Collagen Peptide Plumping Gloss Balm Lip Treatment packs the power of a lip treatment, the sheen of a gloss and the deep hydration of a balm into a one-swipe non-sticky and never tingly formula. It’s clinically proven to visibly boost lip volume, plump & smooth the look of lips for 24 hours after a single application.”

This lip balm comes in a tube with a slant tip rather than having a separate applicator. It has a vanilla scent and a light pink color. It definitely sounds promising.

Peptide Gloss Balm is priced at $24 on the Paula’s Choice website and at Sephora.

Ingredient List: Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Polybutene, Diisostearyl Malate, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Glyceryl Behenate, Synthetic Beeswax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38, Tridecapeptide-1, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Extract, Portulaca Pilosa Extract, Pentylene Glycol, Prunus Domestica Seed Oil, Aqua/Water/Eau, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tribehenin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Lactic Acid, Tocopherol, Sucrose Cocoate, Vanillin, Red 7 Lake

Pro-Collagen Peptide Firming Eye Serum

The current trend in eye treatment products tends to be “all-in-one” treatments, and that’s what Pro-Collagen Peptide Firming Eye Serum is:

“A clinically proven gel eye treatment & cooling tool powered by four eye-targeted peptides to visibly lift lids, smooth fine lines, depuff & hydrate.”

The tube has a metal tip that is used under the eye to gently meld in the eye serum and to cool the area while helping to depuff the area.

I’m really curious about how well this Peptide Firming Eye Serum performs, because I am currently using three different products on my eyes:

  • eye serum
  • lifting cream for my lid, crease and above
  • a cream that helps brighten the undereye area.

Hmm, I wonder if I could substitute the three products for this one? Actually, this new product isn’t an undereye brightener, so I guess I’ll still use that. Nevertheless,  I’ll let you know if I can replace the other two firming/tightening eye products.

Peptides certainly are having a moment because they can stimulate the body to make collagen. Peptide Firming Eye Serum has 4 peptides:

  • Tridecapeptide-1
  • Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7
  • Acetyl Hexapeptide-8
  • Arginine/Lysine Polypeptide

and that’s why it’s part of the “Pro-Collagen” collection.

The new eye serum:

  • preps & primes the undereye area for concealer
  • is suitable for sensitive skin and for milia-prone skin types
  • dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested
  • fragrance-free

Pro-Collagen Peptide Firming Eye Serum is priced at $39. It’s sold on the Paula’s Choice website and at Sephora.

Ingredient List: Water, Dimethicone, Pentylene Glycol, Silica, Squalane, Undecane, Glycerin, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Tridecane, 1, 2-Hexanediol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Cetyl Alcohol, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate,  Hydroxyacetophenone, Propanediol, Tridecapeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Arginine/Lysine Polypeptide, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Sodium Phytate, Sorbitan Oleate, Diosmine, Coleus Forskohlii Root Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Caprylate, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract, Tocopherol

(Wow, there are a lot of ingredients in the above list that I’ve never heard of: Undercane? Tridecane? Hydroxyacetophenone?Sodium Phytate? Disomine? Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract? Yikes, a lot of new ingredients!)
