Although I haven’t used these particular Korean skincare products, I felt that I should at least alert you to them in case you or someone you know is looking for anti-acne products. Both Abib and #OOTD are among my favorite K-beauty brands in terms of efficacy and affordability.
Abib Heartleaf Calming Trial Kit
What was I thinking? Actually, I was thinking that Abib’s Heartleaf Trial Kit was for sensitive skin. To me, “calming” can mean calming redness or calming sensitive skin. But I was wrong in this case. Abib Heartleaf Calming Trial Kit contains travel size versions of a 4 step collection for acne-prone skin.
The four products contain:
- gentle anti-acne ingredients such as Salicylic Acid, Houttuynia Cordata (wintergreen) Extract, Asiaticoside & Asiatic Acid that calm inflammation and heal skin
- hydrating ingredients to moisturize and soften: Panthenol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate etc.
The Collection
- Step 1: Abib Acne Hearthleaf Foam Cleanser (1 fl. oz./30 ml: In addition to salicylic acid, Acne Foam Cleanser also contains Wintergreen extract as well as a variety of hydrating ingredients. e.g. panthenol, glycerin, butylene glycol and more. Add water to create foam, massage into skin and rinse with tepid water.
- Step 2: Abib Heartleaf Calming Toner Skin Booster (1.0 fl. oz./30 ml): After cleansing, apply an appropriate amount to the face with a gentle tapping motion to help the skin absorb it.
- Step 3: Abib Heartleaf TECA Capsule Serum Calming Drop (0.50 fl. oz./15 ml): Apply a few drops to skin and tap in.
- Step 4: Abib Heartleaf Creme Calming Tube (0.67 fl. oz./20 ml): Apply enough to cover skin and pat to absorb.
Fragrance-free.
I bought this little kit during Abib’s recent sale, and I think it cost me between $5-7 which is good since I can’t use it. Nevertheless, the regular price is $18 on Amazon and Abib US.

#OOTD Star Spot Patch
This treatment product contains 80, yes 80!, hydrocolloid patches with Niacinamide and Ceramide. Hydrocolloid is a moisture-retentive gel forming material used in dermatology. When placed on the skin, it absorbs excess fluid (such as pus or oil) and creates a protective, hydrated barrier that accelerates healing, prevents scarring, and blocks bacteria.
The star-shaped patches come in a variety of fun colors, and they are meant to be worn overnight.
I had to laugh because when I was in college I used to wear small paper, metallic stars like teachers used to put on your papers in elementary school when you did a good job. They had nothing to do with blemish patches, they were just fun. My friend, George, used to call me Stacey Star.
These cute stars come in 5 sealed packets, each containing a specific color, e.g. green, blue, purple, yellow, and pink. #OOTD Star Spot Patches are on sale on the #OOTD website for $14. Currently, Star Spot Patches are on sale at supermarket, Shaw’s near where I live, for $5.99. At YesStyle.com, they are on sale for $12.75.
Ingredient List: Polyisobutene, Cellulose Gum, Niacinamide, Ceramide NP, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Water/Aqua, Cholesterol

I’d love those stars. I use a plain old circle for this purpose but the stars would make it fun.
The stars look so cute. I’m giving them to a teen on our local Buy Nothing group.
