Yes, I know I’m late, but just in case you’re stumped for ideas for your favorite Mom here are a few from a mix of categories.
- Onsen Waffle Towels: I remember trying waffle towels on my first trip to Paris decades ago. Since then, I have been seeking out waffle towels in the U.S., and they used to be difficult to find. The benefits of waffle towels is that they dry quickly and are very lightweight. Onsen waffle towels were recommended by the NYT Wirecutter, and I have seen why. Onsen waffle towels are made from Supima cotton made from extra-long staple fibers of the Gossypium barbadense plant, also known as Egyptian cotton or Pima cotton. It is grown exclusively in the U.S., primarily in Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas. They come in a variety of colors. They do require a little extra care: washing with cold water on gentle cycle (I don’t have gentle cycle on my old washer and they’re fine) and using wool cotton balls in the dryer to keep them soft. I love ’em. I have Onsen hand towels and the bath sheet. The bath sheet has a loop that makes it easy to hang.
- Kjaer Weis Blush Compact: If the mom you are gifting goes out and about, consider a silver blush compact from Kjaer Weiss. Elegance and sophistication with this mirrored compact, plus the cream blush is wonderful too. Once the blush is used up, she can buy a refill replacement and still use the compact. - RMS Legendary Serum Lipstick in Brights and Nudes: RMS Legendary Serum Lipsticks have become my lipsticks of choice. They are impossibly lightweight, non-drying, and they leave color behind. - Geske Sonic Facial Roller: My favorite electronic beauty tool is a lightweight facial roller from German manufacturer, Geske. The 4-in-1 device was designed to visibly de-puff and firm the skin around the eyes through 14,000 sonic pulsations per minute. In addition to using it around my eyes, I use it for a relaxing facial massage as well as to help firm my jawline. Because it’s so quiet to use, I often use it before bed. It holds a charge for a loooong time because I haven’t had to recharge it in the 6 weeks or so that I’ve owned it. Lastly, it has a phone app that can be used to develop a personalized skincare routine, but I haven’t figured out how to make it work. Nevertheless, I enjoy using it to supplement my skincare routine. And it’s sold at Walgreens for $39.99! Perfect for last minute gifting.
- Pura 4 Scent Diffuser and Fragrances: Though I haven’t gotten my Comcast internet provider to help me rig their system to use the Pura 4 smart phone app, I still love my Pura 4 Scent Diffuser, and I think it would make a perfect gift for fragrance-loving moms. Just plug it in the wall socket and place inside two of her favorite fragrances, and she’s good to go. Because I can’t program mine, I push a button on the device to turn it on and off. Easy peasy. Sold on the Pura website as well as on Amazon and Ulta.
- Audrey Rose Jewelry: Audrey Rose makes gorgeous 14k gold and gemstone jewelry that’s perfect for Mother’s Day including birthstone charms for necklaces to represent her children.
