My November ’25 BoxyCharm/Ipsy Box

I Bought This - Affiliate links

As sometimes happens, I forgot again to choose my items in my November BoxyCharm box from Ipsy. That’s one of the downsides to being an every other month subscriber. I’ve gotta put a reminder on my calendar on my desktop computer to reminder me to order on the first of each of my subscription months so I don’t forget!

Here’s what Ipsy chose for me in November:

To be honest, I have never heard of any of these brands (actually, I have seen Seraphine Botanicals somewhere or other), so I wasn’t actually excited about this box. Oh, well.

These are my initial impressions after trying most of them.

  • dew of the gods, Dewforia, body fragrance in One & Only: dew of the gods is a brand that sells makeup, body products and fragrance. “Body fragrance” must be a new way to say “body mist”. Dewforia One & Only is a lightweight, pleasant, very wearable scent with the following notes: dragon fruit, lychee, jasmine, frangipani, vanilla, and amber. Sadly, it doesn’t last on me for even 5 minutes. Most likely, I will give this away to one of the moms with teen daughters in the Buy Nothing group. $36
  • Iconic London face makeup brushes: For the past three years or so, I have been loyal to my Artis makeup brushes. However, these Iconic London brushes are very soft and attractive. The consumer ratings and reviews on their website are overwhelmingly positive (just about all 5s). But because I also have a million travel size brushes, I will give these away on Buy Nothing too. $24 on sale

  • Seraphine Botanicals Tea & Rose Satin Blush, shade Fresh Apricot: I usually wear cream blush, but from time to time I will reach for a powder blush. This one is imperceptible on my skin, but the light shade shows up very well and lasts. It’s supposed to be a peachy-pink, but it looks more like a true apricot shade to me and on me. On those occasions when I wear apricot shades (usually during summer), I will reach for this one. I checked their website, and they have 7 lovely shades. $32

  • Lithe Nourish & Glow Lipstick, shade Peony: Lithe Lipstick, made by Canadian brand Lithe, is packed with vitamins and antioxidants and hydrating ingredients. It’s creamy-ish and has a satin finish. The Peony shade is probably the shade of their 3 shades that I would have chosen, though it is pretty much the color of my lips – an MLBB shade. Perfect for everyday wear. I like this lipstick a lot. on sale now for $21 (that might be CAD$)

  • Totemica Beauty Antioxidant Serum: When I saw the orange color of the dropper bottle and I noticed “Antioxidant” in the name, I assumed this was a Vitamin C serum. Wrong! Though it does contain Vitamin C as well as cacay extract, licorice extract and green tea, it’s not a Vitamin C brightening serum. Instead, the cloudy serum offers  deep hydration, antioxidant protection from environment stressors, improved skin elasticity, and it restores the skin’s barrier. For me, this was love at first drop. In fact, it reminded me of the Paula’s Choice Ectoin 7% Serum that I’ve been using for the past month with its velvety, hydrating skin finish. Totemica Antioxidant Serum is cruelty-free and vegan. $20

In sum, I discovered two new products in this box that I like a lot:

  • Lithe Nourish & Glow Lipstick
  • Totemica Beauty Antioxidant Serum.

The Seraphine blush is nice too. So all in all, the products that Ipsy picked for me are fine. Just the two that I liked the most covered the cost of the box.

Nevertheless, I noticed when I posted the price of all of the products in the BoxyCharm/ipsy box that there was no longer an “expensive” product (usually in the $80-250 range) like there used to be. I looked forward to getting something in the box that I typically wouldn’t spend the money to try on my own. That’s the big disappointment. And if it continues this way, it may be the thing that gets me to unsubscribe after all these years.

I’m wishy washy about resubscribing. This box doesn’t encourage me. I don’t think I’d use anything in the box but I’d give the brushes to my granddaughter.

    1. You’re right, these items, though I do like 2 of them, isn’t encouraging. Where are the pricey items that they used to have? So far, I have given away the brushes and tomorrow, I’ll pick a Buy Nothing winner for the Dewforia body mist. Disappointing

This is why I’ve been on the fence about going back to this box. It sucks that they are no longer sending high value items.

    1. Yup, you got it! I hope January’s box is better. I’m going to see which products they’re selling at deep discount because sometimes that can be a benefit. We’ll see…

  3. Hi……..I am trying desperately to find the following:
Jessica Liebesk Illuminating Face Highlighter Set
    Rose Quartz/Chocolate Diamond
    My cell is 754-265-6226
I am hoping someone can help me find this………I need to order as many as possible.

    Thank you in Advance
    Sally

    1. Sorry, there was one for sale on Mercari but it was recently sold. There are other shades for sale on Amazon and eBay, but I’m sure you have looked.
