Pura Smart Fragrance Diffuser & Scents

OK, I caved. Recently, I wrote about buying a Pura home fragrance scent, Kashmir, and how clever I was because I could use my Pura scent with the diffusers that I already own (initial review here). And I did.

But when Pura had their 30% off Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, I decided to go for it. I bought the Pura4 Smart Fragrance Diffuser (for medium sized rooms, i.e. bedroom, kitchen, office space) and two more fragrances. 

Right off the bat, the Pura Smart Diffuser has a few benefits:

• the 4″ diffuser plugs into the electrical wall outlet rather than taking up space on a table like a traditional water-based diffuser
• it doesn’t produce steam along with the scent being projected because there’s no water
• you use the Pura app to set up your schedule, length of time you want to use the diffuser, how strong you want the scent, and it’s easy to change it even from afar
• you put two Pura scent bottles in the Smart Diffuser, and you select which fragrance you’re in the mood for
• the fragrances are cruelty-free, and they don’t contain phthalates in the little bottles nor parabens in the solutions. Even the boxes are made from cardboard and are easily recyclable.

Using the system is intuitive. Twist the top of the Smart Diffuser to open it. Take off the caps on the diffuser refills (scents) but save them in case you want to swap out the scents before they’re finished.

Replace the top of the diffuser. Plug the diffuser into the wall outlet.

Download the Pura app from either the Apple or Google App Store, and follow the instructions to set up your schedule. Also, scan the QR code on the diffuser refill to let the diffuser know which scents you’re using.

The two new scents I bought are:

• Nest NY Holiday: “The quintessential scent of the holiday season is created by blending pomegranate, mandarin orange, pine, cloves, and cinnamon with a hint of vanilla and amber.”
• Cozy Cashmere: “This fragrance comforts and warms on even the coldest days with notes of coconut, vanilla bean, and sandalwood.”

The scent I bought initially, Kashmir from Archipelago,  is described as: “Orange blossom, sandalwood, and Kashmir vanilla combine to create a fragrance as beautiful as paradise.” The orange blossom note is primary, and the takeaway is a comforting floral.

I guess you could say that “vanilla” is the link among all 3 fragrances that I own!

There are subscription plans but I didn’t want to get locked in to a plan at this point. During the sale, the scents cost between $7-12. each.
