Revlon ColorStay Creme Eyeshadow

I Bought This - Affiliate links

Awhile back, I reviewed (here) RMS Beauty Cashmere Matte Eyelight in Mountain Mist, a green-grey shade. To be honest, I was on the fence about it. The color was paler than I had expected. It came in a tube, and it was difficult to squeeze out just the right amount. I always seemed to get too much. It was an OK cream shadow, but nowhere near a favorite of mine.

Today I went shopping in an old Ipsy bag (that didn’t contain stuff from Ipsy), and I discovered a cream eyeshadow that I bought probably two years ago and forgot I had. Revlon Colorstay Crème Eyeshadow, shade 735.

In fact, I was surprised to find it, and I assumed it would have hardened in the jar. I was prepared to toss it. But I opened the little tub, and realized I had never used it. I liked the look of the shade especially since it looked like the color I had hoped the RMS Cashmere Eyelight would be.

Next, I turned it over to look at the bottom of the tub, and I saw that it looked unusual.

I placed my finger on the “ribbing” and discovered that it was a tiny travel brush! How clever.

At that point, I wanted to see if the shadow was still usable since it hadn’t been opened. To my surprise, it was creamy. I actually used the tiny travel brush instead of my finger or my Artis brush to apply it, and it worked just fine. In fact, the shadow was creamy and very easy to apply even with the little brush.

Shade 735 is a grey-green shade with a slight shimmer. It was just what I wanted. Yay, I now have a “new” two-year-old cream eyeshadow in a color I had been searching for.

The cream shadow is very pigmented (although photographing it at night under lights isn’t great). It dried quickly, but it felt hydrating and weightless on my always dry eyelids. And once it dried, it wasn’t going anywhere, it’s smudge-proof. Revlon advertises that it wears for 24 hours (since it’s part of their ColorStay collection), and it wore well without fading till I removed it at night with micellar water.

Although shade 735 is no longer available (I think), Revlon ColorStay Crème Eyeshadow comes in 8 matte and shimmer shades on the Revlon website though the brand says 13 shades. In addition, it’s waterproof. BTW, you don’t have to worry about it drying out too quickly since mine is at least 2 years old!!

Revlon ColorStay Crème Eyeshadow is sold at CVS $10.99, Walmart and Amazon where it’s less than $8. If you’re a fan of cream shadows and you’ll in the mood for an affordable makeup treat, check out Revlon Colorstay Crème Eyeshadow. 🙂

I agree with you on the RMS cream shadows. I get too much out making it too difficult to use. I have quite a few of them too. I’m always looking at cream shadows and am often disappointed.

    1. I too have several of the RMS cream shadows, boo. I need to just toss them. The Revlon is worth a look if you’re at CVS sometime.

    1. Revlon has a gold and a bright-looking pink that would be fun to play with. I can see you in the gold for sure!

  4. Wow! That’s amazing! My paint pots from MAC always dry out before I use them up. I love this color on you, too. I am going to have to look into this eyeshadow as I’m finding my eyelids are drier now than they used to be.
