BIONOVA Nose-To-Mouth Wrinkle Treatment came in my October BoxyCharm box. I was unfamiliar with this Brooklyn NY-based research-oriented brand, but I was curious to try it.
Here’s the description of the product on their website:
-
GIVE THE PROCEDURES A PASS: Reduce fine lines & wrinkles around the nose-to-mouth area (including those dreaded “marionette lines”) and help lift the jowl area the HYPER-NATURAL™ way
-
STRUCTURAL REGENERATING: Formulated to stimulate the production of the structural proteins collagen, elastin & fibronectin in the deep layers of the skin
-
SELF-HEALING: Normalizes cellular metabolism to reestablish intra- & extracellular communication – encouraging the skin to self-regenerate and ‘self-heal’
-
LONG LASTING IMPROVEMENT: Experience on-going results and dramatic improvements with continued use
-
SUN PROTECTION: UV chromophores strengthen the skin barrier function to protect itself from sun damage
Sounds great, doesn’t it? I’m always on the lookout for a skincare product that visibly improves marionette lines and lifts jowls. Who isn’t?
Plus, BIONOVA says that the product delivers visible results in 14 days with twice a day application.
BIONOVA Nose-To-Mouth Wrinkle Treatment contains nano-complexes composed of 80-100 bioactive substances in nano and pico amounts that are created to mimic their occurrence within the body and give dysfunctional cells what they’re lacking in order to communicate and become functional again. “Self-healing” is BIONOVA’s mantra.
Key ingredients found in this product include: Pro-Vitamin B5 (panthenol), vitamin B3 (niacinamide), vitamin E, short-chain polypeptides, lysine and other essential amino and nucleic acids, glycoproteins, hyaluronic acid, and other bioactive nutrient rich compounds

Wowza. Not being a biochemist, I don’t even know where to start, though there are a few ingredients that I’m familiar with.
In addition, BIONOVA Nose-To-Mouth Wrinkle Treatment is formulated with UV Chromophores, a form of built-in sunscreen.
“BIONOVA skin care treatments use specially developed proprietary Nano-Complexes, which are composed from UV Chromophores (ultraviolet light absorbents) naturally existing in a human body. BIONOVA products have no SPF, instead they work with the body to enhance its natural sun protection ability. SPF based skin products provide limited protection against burning and longer-term skin damage, such as premature aging.”
Fascinating! I have seen a few products that use similar ingredients for natural sun/UV protection, but I have never tried them.
Overall, BIONOVA Nose-To-Mouth Wrinkle Treatment sounds very promising. However, over the past three months, I have repeatedly tried to use the medium-thick cream, twice a day on clean skin as recommended. But, I haven’t succeeded. Honestly, it stinks…literally. While the horrendous scent does fade within a minute or two, I can’t get past it. Ugh. And I have to laugh because fragrance is one of the ingredients in the Cream component near the beginning of the list. I can only imagine how bad this cream must smell without it.
As a result, I am unable to report on the efficacy of BIONOVA Nose-To-Mouth Wrinkle Treatment because I can’t make myself use it twice a day for two weeks. In fact, I am planning to toss it. Yes, I am throwing away a product that costs $72 for 0.5 oz.! Glad it came in my BoxyCharm box: no surprise since they’re probably unloading unsold product.
BIONOVA makes a variety of skincare products including anti-acne products as well as other products targeted to specific skincare areas. If this one wasn’t so off-putting, I would have liked to try some more. But hard pass on this brand based on scent alone. And though BIONOVA describes the scent as herbal or “like a vitamin jar”, I can’t say that quite captures the fragrance, lol.
Finally, I mentioned at the start of this review that BIONOVA is based in Brooklyn NY. Reading through their website makes me wonder where they’re from originally and why they didn’t hire someone to write their website and product descriptions for them? I know I make a lot of typos that Jeff doesn’t hesitate to point out to me, but between the grammatical and spelling errors, this is just strange.

Wow. Sounds like a real winner there. Boxycharm struck out this time, clearly.
Agree 100%! But it’s a shame because the nano and pico sized molecules really do make I difference. However, I wanted to throw up everytime I tried using the Wrinkle Treatment!
Gosh. I think that if a product has that many ingredients, I don’t even want to try it. The less, the better, for my skin anyway. Pitty about your money though.
