When Olive and June had their once-a-year 20% off sale, I bought 3 new polishes. Boysenberry Glass (reviewed here) is probably my all-time favorite jelly on my nails, but Ruby Shimmer certainly is a lovely second favorite long wearing polish!
Although I think Ruby Shimmer was introduced as a Christmas shade, I think it’s even better for Valentine’s season. Ruby Shimmer is a warm metallic shimmer in the red family. I think it’s a great combo of red-pink-orange. I love wearing it, and so must everyone else since it is currently sold out!
In fact, I’ve been wearing Ruby Shimmer all weekend to cheer me up during this weekend’s major snowstorm. We got 2 feet of snow, and it’s still snowing now. Nevertheless, I wore Ruby Shimmer while I spent 2.5 hours today shoveling my 75 ft. walkway and my driveway.
Usually, I get almost 10 days of wear with Olive and June Long-Wearing Polishes. Though I’ve been wearing Ruby Shimmer all weekend, it still looks pretty good except for a little tip wear even after all the shoveling and cooking/dishwashing.
I’m exhausted, so I am signing off for tonight and going to sleep.
BTW, Olive and June nail care products are now being sold at Ulta. Although in stores like Ulta, Target, CVS, and Walgreens, they don’t have the variety of shades that they do online, and they usually don’t carry the newest shades. Nevertheless, it’s an easy way to pick up O&J staples like polish remover, Dry Drops, and topcoats.
