Because Thrive Empower Matte Precision Lip Crayon turned out to be such a good everyday lipstick, I decided to buy another shade that I thought would suit me better than the free, Kaisa, described as Dusty Pink (on me, a very light pink) that Thrive gifted me when I made a purchase about a month ago. Heck, the color looks better in the pic below than it does IRL!
My new shade, Leti, described as a Brick Rose is a good one for me. It suits my fair/light skin, works well with my chemically enhanced red hair, and even works with my cool skin tone though I would say that Leti would be probably even better for warm skin tones. The shade is a very nice neutral but the “brick” color enhances my natural lip color.
As a reminder about Empower Matte’s core benefits, it is:
- essentially weightless
- long wearing opaque color
- a cinch to apply as it glides on.
While I was trying out my new shade, I realize that I forgot to mention the lip crayon sharpener at the bottom of the crayon where the color identifier is. Duh. It’s important for a Precision Lip Crayon to stay sharp! Just wanted to point that out in case you hadn’t already surmised that little tidbit. 😉
Because my lips are so dry, I make sure to wear MAC Prep + Prime Lip Primer underneath (reviewed here). Nevertheless, this is a comfort matte lipstick, and I’m sure that anyone with normal or even slightly dry lips can wear it on its own with no issues.
Thrive Empower Matte Precision Lip Crayon comes in 20 different shades, many neutral or neutral-ish, though there are several deep or bright shades as well. $28 at Thrive Causemetics website.
