Since we started talking about going to Costa Rica, Jeff has been reading almost everything about the country that he could get his hands on! Although I have heard what a wonderful place it is, I don’t want to worry about getting pickpocketed or have my credit card info taken. I’ve been meaning to do this since before our trip to London and Dublin a couple of years ago, but I’m finally getting around to it. I decided I should buy an RFID blocking wallet.
Toughergun RFID Blocking Small Wallet for Women
The Toughergun RFID Blocking Small Wallet is definitely small, measuring 3.5″ x 4″. With nothing in it, it’s a half inch thick.
It is supposed to be leather, made from smooth cowhide, and it is very smooth. The wallet comes in almost 20 different colors. As you can see, I chose red.
The wallet closes with a snap inside. There are slots for 6 cards and a window slot for an ID or driver’s license.
Outside, there’s a small zippered pouch for change. When the wallet is open, there’s also an area to store bills.

Although my day-to-day wallet is huge with all of the stuff that I carry, on this trip I am planning to take 2 credit cards and my health insurance card as well as my license. I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it to take my bank debit card. Any thoughts or advice on this?
I’m bringing an inexpensive purse
and a small Baggallini Triple Zip Bagg, a shoulder/belt bag with lots of pockets. I discovered that the Triple Zip Bagg comes in lots of colors. Too bad I didn’t have a choice of color when I bought it years ago!

I’ve started packing, but I’m at a loss for what to bring. I have heard that Costa Rica is a casual, outdoor sports-oriented country, so I am bringing a few pairs of shorts and T-shirts and a couple of swimsuits, beach hat and a coverup. Also a rain jacket in case it rains and a baseball-style cap. In addition to the jeans I will wear on the plane, do I need other pants or something to wear if we go to a nicer restaurant? I don’t know!
