After my longtime favorite eyeshadow primer, Urban Decay Anti-aging Primer Potion, switched its squeeze tube for a wand, I’ve been searching for new eye primers. Although I understand why some brands prefer wands (e.g. keeps your finger clean, prevents the primer from burping out on occasion etc.), but I prefer the control of using my finger.
Although I still have an unopened tube of UDAAPP sitting in my stash, I’ve found a couple other brands that I really like. So I guess the UDAAPP will sit there till I toss it!
Love + Craft + Beauty Eye Primer
Originally, I received a tube of LCB Eye Primer in one of my Ipsy/Boxycharm bags or boxes. It’s a tinted cream eye primer that lasted me a long time. I loved it, so when I used it up in November (yes, I still haven’t done my November or December empties posts!), I bought another one. It arrived shortly thereafter, and when my cleaning people were coming, I put it somewhere and I still haven’t been able to find it. Boo!
The opaque tinted primer is terrific because it covers my reddish eyelids. Its benefits include:
- prolongs eyeshadow performance
- keeps eyeshadow from wandering
- dries quickly
- 24-hour wear (if you need it to last that long!)
- cruelty-free and vegan formula.
The slim black tube holds 8 ml and is priced at $15. LCB Eye Primer lasted me for at least a year and a half! In June 2023, I wrote about it here.

Well Put Eye Primer from Wingme Cosmetics
Fortunately, I received my bi-monthly Ipsy/Boxycharm box in December, and it contained an eye primer! And it was a wand-less eye primer!
Wingme Cosmetics is a new-to-me brand. It appears that Wingme concentrates on eyes with brow and eye products and tools: eyeliner, eyeshadow palettes, eyeshadow brushes, brow brushes, brow color, brow gel.
Well Put Eye Primer is similar to LCB Eye Primer in that it is a tinted, rose-infused gel-cream that is squeezed out of a tube and applied with a finger.
I would say that Well Put Eye Primer skews toward slightly more gel and slightly less cream. On my eyelids, the tinted color disappears. The gel dominant consistency seems to sink into the skin on my lid quickly. It works well as an eye primer. Eyeshadow glides on over it and stays crease-free for hours. So far, I like this eye primer, too! And if you look at the ingredients in both, they are similar (except for the rosa centifolia flower extract). Though it contains rose flower extract, it doesn’t have much of a fragrance, if any.
Like LCB Eye Primer, it’s vegan and cruelty-free. It’s also free of Parabens, Formaldehyde Releasers, Mineral Oil, and Phthalates (I think that LCB is as well.)
Wingme Cosmetics Well Put Eye Primer contains 10 ml, and is on sale right now for $16.80 on the Wingme Cosmetics website. The regular price is $24.

Have you tried either of these wand-less eye primers? Do you have any others you think I should try?
When I use a primer with a wand I’ll apply a dab on my eyes and then smooth it with my finger or a brush. The wand seems to leave creases or goes places it doesn’t belong.
I agree, so I’ve decided to avoid the wands completely 😀
